I've come to conclusion that he's really good at ideas and maybe outlines, but shouldn't be allowed near a full script or any detail work. I'll never forgive him for Prometheus.

For all that this episode had problems, it was definitely much better than what we got for most of the season. I wish they'd taken the plot of this one (army of the people they've killed, specifically) and given it more episodes and more room to breath. It's an interesting concept that Kol lays out at the beginning —…
If Katherine could do an entire town in Pennsylvania by herself, I don't know why these idiots haven't managed it yet. I guess there's more people on vervain, blah blah blah.
I hadn't thought about the age thing — she'll be a baby vamp. That'll be hilarious.
I spent most of the early commercial breaks chanting "give the cure to Alaric" so I'm right there with you. They didn't listen to me though and I was thoroughly heartbroken when Alaric went poof at the end.
But don't we know that her name was Tatia? And she that she was alive 1000 years ago (killed to turn the Mikealsons) rather than 2000?
I'm also super sick of werewolf bites, werewolf venom, werewolf toxin, werewolf snot. It's an overused bit, just trying to amp up the drama with no real effect or point.
There is no explanation that makes sense. When Silas first showed up looking like Elena/Kat and talking about dopplegangers I was kinda hoping he'd end up actually being Tatia. But that doesn't make any sense either.
The consolation prize for Jeremy coming back is that he can see dead people and hence we could get some ghost Alaric scenes.
I got so excited too, when I saw Alaric use his vampire speed to move people around. I wasn't really sure what he came back as, since he didn't seem to be a crazy vampire-vampire-hunter. This is the first time we got to see good Alaric zipping around. Pretty neat.
So happy to be wrong about Damon getting the cure. Way back when I thought that only Damon and Kat were the two characters who would never want it. I figured this show didn't have the balls to de-vamp Katherine, so it would have to be Damon.
I really dislike Superman, but if I hear that Zod actually is an 80 year old Korean woman I will be first in line to see it.
@avclub-beddc9f9e1c9b438dc4246e494644ce4:disqus That sounds really tasty. Pickled beets are awesome.
I was never big on black beans or sweet potatoes growing up, but recently I re-tried them and found that I like them better now. So I've been combining them different ways in different things — I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
I liked pieces of this very much, but as a whole I was pretty disappointed. I can understand not liking Iron Man — I think that's a love-it-or-hate-it situation.
This was…disjointed. Not necessarily bad, and definitely good in discrete chunks, but I'm not sure how well the whole thing hangs together as a single movie.
Snarky blank verse would be the best.
And the cast is already comfortable with weird racism.
@avclub-1b1f9a3e639ecc53f335314fc9d8403b:disqus I find it kind of fascinating that you know someone with an actual Neilson box. They've always been this mythical creature in my head — something that runs around torturing and murdering all the shows I like.
A generation of alcoholics, if the free-flowing booze on TVD has anything to say about it.
