That was just weird aggressive icing on the patronizing cake. I kept expecting there to be some reason he had to shove that thing on her wrist (I dunno, a magic-y doodad or something), but nope — just ridiculous, weird behavior.

I had not thought of this and, just, ugh. This whole plot line gets worse every week Maybe there's some kind of Sun/Moon curse reveal that will save us from further insanity? Or maybe the writers really fucked this one up.
I just don't get how she was allowed to do all this shit. Klaus originally had a curse put on him because being a hybrid would make him too powerful — and there needed to be "balance" or some nonsense.
Rather than it just being completely random "dress up time with your neighborhood serial killer"? Too much to ask!
Dumb question I have: I really want to know what product they're using on her hair — it's super smooth for being so curly.
I highly doubt they'll kill him, but I'd lay money down on him being the one who ends up taking the cure in the end.
I'm super disappointed with how the Salvatores are ending up. They were my favorite relationship on the show and it's pretty wrecked now. Love triangle be damned, I just want to watch them scheme and argue about anything but Elena's freakin' humanity.
Absolutely right. Elena's always been the center of attention — and at the same time the major drama has also focused on her. Now that the "problem" with her is separate from the real issue, we get some really bad prioritizing.
@avclub-b7345a96d3fbcd3746d624805f429852:disqus I figured they were using the clock pendulum to emphasize time moving backwards as they ran the actual shots backwards. The idea that it's more like the watches used for meditation or hypnotism — that's interesting too.
She's all over the place. I don't get her motivations at all — if she even has any. Sometimes it feels like she just flips a coin to decide what to do next.
Again, confusing and brain-hurty, but here's what I've got:
Jeremy's voice:
I kept going back and forth with myself over whether he was doing a weird Silas voice or just had a bad cold.
I like the sound design for the trance thing, but I hate that red swooping line that I guess is supposed to be a clock pendulum. There was way too much of it in the first episode — thankfully they seem to be cutting it back now. It's just annoying.
This was my initial thought too — that if Hannibal didn't eat Freddie he must be using her / feeding her information. But I don't know anymore, I think we'd have seen more indication of it by now, right?
You are not alone.
I still kinda think she is evil, she's just playing it way close to the vest.
I thought it was kinda distracting. Definitely not boring, though.
When Will busted out that line ("It feels like I’m talking to his shadow, suspended on dust.") I groaned. Terribly overwritten and silly sounding. Props to the actor for still giving it his best shot.
I thought the episode was pretty respectful to hunters — this one just happens to take everything too far. Having him as a hunter also makes it really plausible that he has the skills to gut the girls he's been killing.
unfortunately.
