This is probably just me but: I found it really weird that Damon and Elena slept in bed with all their clothes and their shoes on.  Clothes, fine — shoes, why?

The hybrids reminded me strongly of the tomb vampires — supposedly this big scary threat to the town or the main cast, but actually boring and made out of tissue paper.  Plus the actors are (mostly) terrible.  So, just like in season 1, we get an epic mass kill off.

I'm still betting on Damon getting "cured" — probably kills off the sire bond, gives the character a new direction to take, forces him to make a choice about getting re-vamped.  Maybe Elena forces it on him, maybe he takes it of his own free will — lots of room for interesting drama.

Yeah, I thought Carol's comment was weird too.  The conclusion I eventually came to was that Carol was married to the guy and even seemed to like him.  So, yes, he was a dick that did dickish things all the time — but her memories of him are colored by love and all things romantical.

EXACTLY.

1. I never thought I would ever say anything like this, but I'm really bored by Damon, and Elena.  Scenes between those two used to be tense and interesting and you never really knew what was going to happen.  Now they are either icky and whiney or boring and whiney.  Everything else needs more screen time.

I'm betting on his wife/girlfriend/whatever being in that grave too.  We already know that he can raise the dead (or at least it's strongly implied).  Most things on this show come down to either lost love or family — so maybe it's his girlfriend maybe it's a brother.

"Also, imagine how much better this season would be with Alaric."
Every minute of every episode.

This was where I thought they were going with the whole un-siring plotline: the hybrids would get free and then all run away or something.   Instead they'll continue to be cannon fodder, but for Tyler instead of for Klaus (and of their own free will too).

Or how 'bout this for breaking the sire bond: Cure Elena of her Vampirism and *poof* no more sire bond.  Then they can have all the consensual business time they want.  (Or, hell, Cure Damon, that'd probably fix it too, right?)
