Harry Dean Stanton walking into shot will definitely make me think "oh look! Harry Dan Stanton". Less of an issue recently. He was in some iconic roles (Repo Man, Paris Texas), then a lot of bit parts.

Out of sight, for mine, is Jennifer Lopez's best (and only good) role, but she is very good in it.

The thing aboutr the ending of the episode, was it *was* a shot of the end of the universe. All the stars going nova, all at once. (Presumably from a third person authorial camera POV, simultaneously in every light cone at once).

Robert Irwin's The Arabian Nightmare, first published about 1983 reprinted 2002 is set in a dream of stories and a story of dreams. with astonishing images.

@Elitist:

WW was a great character in Kingdom Come, and was a key part of the Morrisson era JLA. If the new stuff retcons all that out of existence, then it's a big loss for no real benefit.
Perhaps when Wonder Girl grows up, she can get back into the proper togs. (And it needn't be hoty pants - the skirt look worked for her).

Those are all cricketers.

Spiderbait!

Yeah, and Hamlet, too. They call it a 5th Act, but what's up with everybody dying and that? Spoilt the whole thing.

Speaking of Planet of the Apes, is it too late to get Tim Burton in to trash another beloved childhood memory? Helena Bonham Carter can play… umm … Ratty! Why not?

There are some total classics in there, with Streets Original Pirate Material, the immaculate No one knows, and Groove Armada's Lovebox record as real highlights of the year, in retrospect. Something borrowed is one of Ben Lee's best ever.

Let me just get that, for more of what's outside the Now … bubble

For world cup songs, it is very difficult to go past "Touched by the hand of Cicciolina" by Pop Will Eat Itself, which was released in competition with the New Order one.

The Coens to direct. Tom Waits as the Leprechaun. Steve Buscemi as Low Key Lyesmith? Wait, that's not quite right. George Clooney? Michael Caine (or at a pinch, Ray Winstone) as Czernobog.
A younger Anthony Hopkins would be good as Wednesday

The original graphic novel is excellent, and I find the later novelisation to be even better.

Grey Goo (affressively converting nanomachines) is a definite omission from the list. On film, there's that metal swarm thing in the Stargate mythos. and something similar in teh Lost in Space movie.

An astronomically nearby supernova has been in some books - say Iron Sunrise by Stross - and would smash the Earth with radiation, with potentially little notice.
