"Irvin is also fantastic alongside another Cowboy legend, Deion Sanders, on NFL Network’s Sunday night roundup, NFL GameDay Final."

Hellz yes, that song is horrible!! It's a Neil Diamond song that was ragaffied by Brits in the '80s. And that awful rapping/toasting verse….that's some sort of crime against nature and man. UB40's other 'hits' were also reggae-pop (barf!) covers of Elvis and Sonny and Cher, so you can't even give the song credit for

Exactly. As others have said her hate for the FYC song seemed a little forced, and I think it says something that while she was racking her brain for funny/hateful things to say about a song that she was kind of pretending to hate, her subconscious reminded her of a REAL shitty song.

Like this, Ack! Ack! Ack!

The Fine Young Cannibals don't move my needle much in either direction (and I was 17 when that song was released), but she's on to something with the Chris Deburgh 'Lady in Red' shit. Now, THAT is an objectively horrible fucking song.

That dude knows the importance of a Skypager.

I know I've seen this and was trying to remember the plot, but all I could come up with was an image of dudes in crates rolling down hills, so thanks for confirming for me.

I believe part of the stipulation of the show's creation which garnered him so much control over the product was that the show was super cheap, and his fee came from the remainder of the show's budget. That said, as @Wynstone noted, he's probably renegotiated several times since then, with more leverage:

Martin and Hart's movie careers are equally crappy, but I'll stand up for 'Martin' as a seriously underrated and genuinely funny TV show, which lasted for 132 episodes and 5 years, whereas Hart has had a few genuinely funny moments on TV or film, which lasted for a handful of collective minutes.

HBO's Oz. Lookit 'em all:

Interesting, thanks for the info! Have you ever heard the 1970 album 'Ceremony - Buddha Meet Rock' from People? It's a weird psychedelic/prog approximation of a buddhist prayer/ceremony with chanting and wood block percussion interspersed with long, droning, spacey guitar jams. Sounds like it might fit into your

Nice!

The Blue Comets also do a weird loungey live version of Mel Torme's 'Comin' Home Baby' that is seriously the best thing ever recorded. It's got live shrieks of japanese school girls, spooky organ, some of that fluttering Jethro Tull flute shit, smooth loungey guitar and shabba-doos. It's unbeatable:

That Takeshi Terauchi stuff is awesome, thanks AVClub!

That's one of my favorite parts of Alien, too….Yaphet Kotto and Harry Dean Stanton endlessly complaining about their "shares" or whatever.

Your typo above lead me down a wonderful path, imagining a cannibal version of Cannonball Run.

"Eichorst, my dearest friend, it is finally time for you to assume your mantle….as drum tech on my 4-week nightclub tour of the tri-state area."

I love the rat catcher badge. I was forcing an oblivious friend to watch 10 minutes of this show the other day, and he was scoffing & questioning some of the motives of "the cop" and I was soooo happy/sad to correct him, "Oh, no! That fellow is a rat catcher."

Yeah, I'm wondering if Elway thinks "getting to the next level" somehow involves Elway himself having more indirect input/control of the offense through Kubes. That sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Yeah, the Chiefs dropped a handful of easy picks. As you say, it's interesting that his arm strength seems to vary during the game. Sometimes he looks like he can't throw it ten yards, and the ball's fluttering sideways like a 12-year old threw it….yet on their few deep attempts last night the ball was actually
