E.T., I agree with your overall assessment of PM, but the pod race?! The pod race brought the entire proceedings to a complete halt. It was all Jake Lloyd and bad plotting, and stupid effects. And it was like 30 min long!! I hated the pod race completely.

gah! those competitions really bug me. They're far less about actual baking, and moe about sculpting/arts and crafts stuff. Bah!

No album is solid after Pinkerton, but they have some great singles after that. Make Believe and Red, however, are nothing but dreck.

So does this not have the horribly sexist messages that exist throughout Disney's The Little Mermaid? TLM is one of the few films I actively hate.

Why are so many people discounting The Fly? It's one of the greatest mainstream horror films ever made. It has the polish, the sheen, and the gore to attract a large audience, with enough subtext and psychological horror to give it serious depth.
