I just thought I'd put in an appropriate appearance here.

And I'm not sure where to put this so, I'll just throw it next to Venkman, since I know she's kinda from the area:
no harm, Venkman. But I'm here to spread the love of Wishbone. The little dog with a big imagination!
I agree that Al Franken's book title (never read the book) was lazy and uninspired. I can think humor is lazy on both sides, just like I can think its pointed and hilarious on both sides. I'm done discussing TA or Parker and Stone, but I completely disagree with the notion put forward by Schiels and others that I find…
Schiels, are you trolling? There are plenty of ways I can think of to parody or satirize liberals. It's not like they're infallible.
damn. I haven't thought about that in ages….
banmar, the traffic is one of the reasons I would never move back to SE MI. Sadly, I still have to visit. My parents live ~ 15 min north of the Palace.
ricin beans- much better than TA? Orgazmo was humorous, and probably underrated, but I didn't think it was anywhere near as funny as TA.
ok, I agree that if you find it funny, you find it funny. The problem is, many of us didn't find the liberal jokes funny. Not because we don't have a sense of humor, not because there aren't things to lampoon about the left, but because we thought they were lazy. I agree that it's not just TA, it's SP too. As much as…
I have to disagree with your definition there, Andy K. An SNL movie is either:
1) a movie in which characters that are popular on SNL are given a full-length movie
2) an actor from SNL has become so popular that the SNL machine creates a movie for them
I just think he perpetually looks like he needs a haircut. Not that he needs short hair, but at least a little shape to it.
Just to clarify: I'm not surprised that kids/others read Archie. But it's a casual consumable. You pick it up in the checkout line. You grab one at the convenience store on road trips. The beauty of Archie is that nothing ever changes, so you can jump in at any point and follow what's going on. Who would be trying to…
Check out the press releases on the 'New Look' link. The people putting them out are completely living in their own little world, or there really is a solid subculture of fans who follow Archie…..
Fantastic point, Dan. I hope the editors take note for a future Inventory: Films With Scenes Worth getting the DVD out to watch.
Given the number of random comments against Marienbad on this site (not just this topic) I'm starting to wonder if it's just become some sort of example of what they think is 'pretentious filmmaking'. I doubt they've even seen it. (not you, Warren, obviously)
Bucky, Top Shelf claims to be releasing a one volume cheaper edition of Lost Girls next month.
Deacon, I couldn't disagree more. I have almost no interest in ever seeing a book I loved turned into a movie, because it's almost always 1000x worse than what I had in my head when I read it. There are occasional exceptions, of course.
What's with the people who think the Jinx/Coke connection is recent? My mom taught it to me when I was a child and said that she'd been doing it since she was a kid. In the 50's. I wouldn't be surprised if it went back even further.
I don't know what the age difference between Jenna and the guy in this show is in real life (and I'm too lazy to look them up) but they don't visually look different enough. She's supposed to be a late 30's woman dating a guy who lives with a bunch of friends? So he's mid 20's. That's close to a 15 year difference.…
Ellie kinda grabbed the point I was going to make: you can't see a porn actress as anything but a fool after you've seen her perform, but it's only because she did it on camera, for money. If she was out doing these things on her own, in her bedroom, you wouldn't know and wouldn't care. You find the decision to…
