I watched the first couple episodes and was kind of bored, so could you recommend later ones that might grab my (or any viewers') interest more?
Maybe a focus group told the network "Wow, Mike's a great name, we can totally relate to anybody called Mike…not Michael though, just Mike."
I found the pilot mostly enjoyable but it seemed a little padded, especially in the first half, so I don't know if the extended length was really necessary. I didn't really want to see some guys surfing for like 5 minutes, though it was kind of pretty I guess? As the review emphasizes, the show is great to look at and…
Maybe you can email him about it and he'll read it on his radio program?
That sounds like a pretty accurate conclusion based on how the censors seem to work.
Magic nanites? Having horrible flashbacks to Revolution for some reason…seriously, did Defiance steal one of their writers or something?
Sorry if my post seemed dismissive, that wasn't the intention. I was just making a joke about how accomplished his family members are by wondering if the success extends to his extended family as well.

I thought he was holding a little bag of explosive powder, like the stuff Pol used to escape. He asked for water and salt afterwards.
Water Tribe? Can't wait to see Katara and Sokka competing in Survivor!
I had difficulty focusing on the dialogue in that entire scene because I was so fascinated by Liu's spreading technique.
Isn't the exit confessional like as soon as they walk out? How fast do you expect her to get over it?
Sherri probably would have had a Dawn-level #SURVIVORBREAKDOWN; Eric might have gone into a fugue state from hunger. Not sure about the other two. Cochrane might, like you say, have respected the strategic value of the decision, but wouldn't that still raise the issue of Brenda being too strong/smart a competitor?
Please tell me you're just making a very cruel joke.
