I will say that I had to pinch myself after reading Zack's review. He hardly hedged at all on this one, and actually seemed to almost not hate the show outrageously!

I was a little bit surprised by Maggie going, too, but then I figured they probably took her just in case it was a legitimate community - isn't she pretty much the de facto leader now that Deanna is dead?
Who are the loonies?
Commenting before I even read the review because HOW MUCH DO I LOVE DARYL AND DR. DENISE INTERACTING?????
Thanks, I think I just might!
It's been a few years since I watched this show, maybe I need to jump in again?
You said exactly what I thought when reading this "story". So they don't care one way or another - uh, okay?
I'm pretty much where you are with this. I like them fine as a couple, but I had really hoped they would explore their relationship as intimate friends/family rather than sexualizing it. I'm fine with it, of course, and happy for the characters. I just would like to see close, intense friendships between men and women…
Ha! Thank you for clearing that up for me, I have to admit I never saw "A Hard Day's Night"
I'm not familiar with the reference but I'll keep my eyes open.
Enid is moody but I don't find her hateful. If anything, the actor makes me believe that Enid is confused, worried, and unsure - typical teenagery things I suppose. But it makes me uneasy about what she might bring into play - what wrong-headed decision or act. So in that sense, yeah, she makes me uncomfortable…
Rick mentions how clean Jesus is. Hmmm.
I BELIEVE YOU ALL MEAN "YAKETY SAX".
See, I disagree about Carol. I see it taking a chunk out of her every time she has to kill someone. Morgan just stubbornly sticks to his philosophy like he never learned to extrapolate or to improvise on the fly, and maybe that's because he was SUCH a mess in "Clear" and he just hasn't been able to be a whole person…
Really? Maybe it's just because I love the actor and her character so much, but I think she's incredibly gorgeous, even more so without makeup. I really hadn't noticed her lighting. Seeing her later on Talking Dead, she talks so much faster than I expected!
While I understand your reaction to Enid (and Carl) I have to say that I don't really mind either of them. I know teenagers and they are all dicks. Even the ones you love, you have a hard time being around.
Pick up my monocle while you're down there,
I guess I never really took Jessie seriously as a love interest for Rick, I don't really know why. I think it just seemed to complicated to ever actually work out - guy kills woman's abusive husband and father of her children….then steps in as step-daddy? I don't know, I just never felt like it was all that natural I…
This reviewer seems very determined to retain plausible deniability as far as actually liking the show goes. Even in an episode he grades as an A-, he makes sure to equivocate every other paragraph so we don't forget how much BETTER he would like this show to be. Sigh. Progress?
Interesting viewpoint, and I don't disagree with you. I always kind of hoped they would just be non-sexual but intense friends, more because we don't see those kinds of friendships on shows than because that was the vibe I got from them. I guess I think of the sexual relationship as more trite than a committed…
