They can go up stairs, and under the helicopter you could see the rooftop shed/entryway to the stairs. So I figure some of them got up on the roof before the helicopter crashed.

Poisoning is faaaaar too passive for a guy like the Guv. You can't be there to see your victims die, and to rub it in their faces that "IT WAS ME!!! I KILLED YOU! BWAAA-HA-HA-HA-HA!"
"But then we'd get a season of gardening and pig farming."
I honestly like it better if it doesn't explain the rules. I like learning by trial and error through the characters (and from the safety and comfort of my sofa).
So far no one stands out for me in the hate category. But I changed my mind about both Lori and Andrea eventually, too. I'm kind of a softie. I think Dale was the only character I hated throughout his sojourn.
I agree about the trench, I think that would be a terrific idea. I'm not sold on the maze o' pikes & brambles, though, just because I do think they have to stay on top of disposing of the dead and the recently-living-dead fairly efficiently. A trench that they could set afire every few days to cremate the remains…
To be fair, you only have to accept it if you want to enjoy it.
They'll send the kids out for post-battle clean-up stabs to the head.
@avclub-792b765aa995daf26cf6f17f519c949d:disqus some of you are just lucky genetically that way (grumble grumble)
Finally, someone mentions how great Carol was tonight! And I like her teasing relationship with Darryl. The woman has really changed and grown on me over the years.
I kind of thought they might introduce zombie pigs/wild pigs/boars only because as far as I remember my college intro to biology classes, they have a very similar physical system to humans.
Wow, no offense but that's a really scumbag retirement home she worked at. Typically they take care of impacted residents every 3-5 days, they don't wait until it's coming up out of their mouths and noses.
This is what I thought until they started walking and chatting. I thought he was looking at a zombie and imagining her talking to him at first.
That was Vincent Martella, voice of Phineas on Phineas and Ferb! He's 20 or 21.
The "wider view" in this review is the same as the view in the normal TV Club write-ups, that being: 'This episode or that episode was great BUT they will fuck it up soon so no sense getting excited about it. The writing is terrible, the characterizations are terrible, and the plot is terrible. The zombie attacks are…
Lennie James. @avclub-0b231288a1ba66b9ceeb8238d0902cff:disqus is talking about the episode "Clear".
Dog walker?
You're right, of course. The tone, analysis, style, and conclusion are nearly identical. If it weren't for the comment section, I probably wouldn't read the reviews.
I agree, @avclub-c7684d43035cba8fe351d14a41209dc5:disqus . I get annoyed with TVDW's reviews because he seems to be forever lamenting what the show could be, rather than enjoying what it is. Even this one, he consistently treats it as a foregone conclusion that the show will be awful, even if it starts out great.
I panicked for a minute when I saw this was up, thinking I'd missed the premier.
