I just have to pipe up to echo @avclub-a2cf154360e8cff829af082a701c07f4:disqus . I lost my virginity at age 18 to my equally-virgin 18 yr old bf whom I had been dating for a year. While the physical mechanics were not as acrobatic nor as adventurous as they may have been with a more experienced partner, the emotional

Yeah, the only times I've seen him mention his spouse/family was when it was appropriate to the discussion, usually illustrative (like today's mention) or in his books (which are personal) or, say, the "It Gets Better" campaign.

Just pitching in that I agree with this as the only way Jesse will/can find out about Jane. It's completely believable that Walt would let his mouth run if he feels he's not being "respected" enough for what he's done.

Honestly, it took me a number of tries, too.

OMFG. I could not take this scenario.

It quite literally doesn't take more than 2-3 seconds nor any talking whatsoever to communicate "Lift the pot off this kid" non-verbally: mime toking a joint, pat your left pocket, nod. I don't even think you'd have to have anything said beforehand - those 3 simple gestures tell someone all they need to know.

FOR BREAKFAST.

As Saul correctly pointed out in the previous episode, Jesse is still two miracles short of sainthood.

Yes, non-verbal in this is so easy. Mime toking a joint, pat your left front pocket, nod your head at the door. Done, 3 seconds tops.

Because Walt had the ricin cigarette lifted so that Jesse would think it was HIS carelessness that caused Brock's illness. Walt engineered that guilt, and let him suffer with it for a long time. So that Jesse would distance himself from any influence other than Walt's.

@avclub-186c9e5f4705d0e85dcc7483abe4a7b5:disqus You prove my point! 15 years ago I was 33 and in training side-by-side with my friends for the Alcoholic Olympics. Good times. Even more fun than the Masturbation Olympics.

You talkin' square inches, or lengths of time?

I didn't know what "keeners" are (but now I do).

Hi Scrawler! You're here early!

Doable for someone who's in their alcoholic-training days. 15 years ago I could have done this, MAYBE, with a little beneficial free-range vomiting between bars, but today it would kill me.

I figured that was a reference for all the big-brained cinephiles we have here (I am not nearly knowledgeable enough, nor does my taste ever more than occasionally rise slightly above "massively pedestrian").

Where's the commenter with the "AV CLUB" pull-quote gimmick? I don't know how to format text in disqus.

Wow, get some sleep,, man. Seriously.

@avclub-eac75edc18b8546c46893fe4b75ab995:disqus weirdly, I remember really looking forward to Hello Larry, I loved MacLean Stevenson in MASH. But not, like, THAT much. Not enough to get excited about him getting a new gig in TV. And yet, here we are.

I think the distinction is, possibly, that you don't necessarily need to be able to spot car bomb ingredients and/or building techniques in detail to be able to guard against them or even just be aware of them.
