Ugh, that photo enhancement drove me nuts. They didn't just zoom in on the guy, they zoomed AROUND someone else standing in front of the guy. I'm sure there's a fan wank for this (its not a photo from a camera, its a three dimensional image taken from a sensor sweep of the room or something, wank wank wank), and this

I took the same thing away from the ending as well. Its clearly a major moment for Kira, in those last couple of seconds you can see her trying to wrap her brain around the idea that not all Cardassians are evil, and what that means for the way she makes sense of her world.

I really found his early scenes, before he went full on Screaming Hitler, to be the best part of the episode. He plays things so coldly, and with the perfect amount of smugness and condescension. I get why the volume had to be cranked up as the story progresses, but I think those early scenes are where Yulin really

I had the same reaction, thought this one was kind of pointless as a kid, and watching it last night I felt like it was one of the best episodes of any Trek series I'd ever seen.

Does Syfy still show original science fiction? Outside of those awful movies they air every weekend? I feel like they've gotten pretty far away from the sort of thing that most people associate the channel with.

I feel like it meandered from start to finish.

Are we talking about the same "best" ending? My understanding was that even with your military assets bar maxed out you couldn't get the Shepard lives ending unless your galactic readiness was increased through playing multiplayer.

@avclub-132d6c1408f2492456848667346b54b6:disqus I subscribe to a shit ton of podcasts myself, and I used to share your OCD inspired frustrations. The Nerdist's recent shift to three episodes a week was what finally broke me of that. There's just not enough time in the day to get worked up over some lame ass hostful

Hey @avclub-7440107dd1103351e1c1ef647f404655:disqus I have a question for you: How pathetic are The Rock haters?

I have similar conversations with one my bosses several times a week. The look on his face, saying something that made it clear he neither needed nor wanted Dax's advice, and in fact thought she was stupid for even suggesting it, without being flat out disrespectful? I totally related to that little O'Brien moment.

Yeah I just beat it this morning and feel like I've already missed out on a lot of the conversation. I'm definitely interested in hashing it out after the fact with anyone else who's coming here late.

I think having it impact the single player campaign is kind of iffy. If it acted the way Bioware claims, as a way to boost your army for the final fight and nothing more, that would be awesome. But its been pretty well established that without playing at least some of the multiplayer you're locked out of the best of

@avclub-2d0cca95ad6a2061d208d765e79af478:disqus  I don't think it makes sense at all. The effects of indoctrination are pretty well established. Some of the people who get indoctrinated in these games are more overtly unbalanced and crazy about it than others, but none of them act in a way that's consistent with what

@Scrudy:disqus Thane actually soured me on Kai Leng. He makes the remark right before he dies that a terminally ill Drell was able to hold the assassin off, and it just sort of drove home to me what an obnoxious little punk Kai Leng actually was.

1 & 2: Somewhat. I really loved playing through these games, I really came to be invested in the characters, the universe they lived in, and the overall story. The last two minutes of a 100 hour gaming experience aren't going to change all of that. But when you have a game/series that asks you to get as wrapped up in

I consider London to be part of the suckfest. Its a fun level, the action is intense, and there's lots of emotions, sure. But is walking down the same random burned out street that I've walked down in every other shooter ever what I want to be doing during the grand finale of my space opera trilogy?

I would've liked an ending that made a bit of sense, and tied up the actual plot (note that I did not say tied up the actual plot with a happy ending). The endings we get in this game do neither.

Oh jesus, I forgot about that. Or blocked it out of my memory. There was some subplot about a used bookstore and an empty parking lot or something too, wasn't there? Exciting stuff.

I was big on those books back in high school. I read the first 8 I think. I finally gave up with book nine. I couldn't even make it through the prologue. I just read and read and read, and looked down at the page number and realized I'd gotten through nearly a hundred pages about people who weren't main characters in

The Dr. Doom/lightsabers/Harry Potter stuff is explained through some throw away line about how whoever came up with those weapons and robots made them look the way they did specifically because they thought the source material was so cool. That still doesn't explain the magic eraser kid though.
