I made it another couple of minutes past the pi song, realized it wasn't going to get any better, and gave up on it. Talking about wrecking the episode.

The episode also retreaded alot of the same material that Mullally talked about in her recent Random Roles here at the AV Club. The fact that much of what she said on WTF was stuff I'd just read a day or two earlier definitely helped to make an already bland episode really tough to get through.
This was actually the most I've enjoyed an episode of HDTGM in a really long time. I don't feel too strongly about live panel vs. studio, or having guests from the movie itself, I just want the show to make me laugh, and this one did. Jason was hilarious (especially with the dirty feet stuff), Al had some funny stuff…
I haven't listened to The Besties, though now that I know it exists I may check it out. I listen to In Case of Emergency and Satellite Dish (Justin and Travis' other podcasts) sometimes. They're both pretty funny, though not on the level of MBMBAM.
I'm ok with Matt. In the sense that he's kind of a weird guy I think he's the most genuinely nerdy person on the show. And I like that he's into some things that Chris and Jonah aren't into, it adds some extra variety and laughs when talk turns to pop culture. The negative attitude is obnoxious sometimes but no more…
Oh I don't think he's a dumb Ferengi midget at all. I just think it was dumb luck that a Ferengi, any Rules of Acquisition studying Ferengi, was hanging around when what's her name needed advice.
That would make sense if he was the only cop on the station, but he's got a whole security staff to delegate the handling of minor crimes to. Agreed on the Jake Sisko point though. Letting your boss' son die is bad for job security.
Definitely dumb luck. Nog recognized a situation where the Rules of Acquisition happened to be applicable, and spoke up. If there hadn't been a Ferengi around to save the day who knows what would have happened.
Yeah I kept wondering how a village this backwards would have the resources to be able to contact a space station a couple light years away for help. Or how they could even understand the concept of a space station.
Odo's job confuses me. Some episodes he's hunting gangs of killers and mercenaries, and then in episodes like The Storyteller he's a mall cop in outer space ("Stop leaning on the railings, kids."). Seems like a guy who does the former for a living really wouldn't care that much about the latter.
Im with @avclub-793e947eae91188030ba41cff6a5c55c:disqus on this one. I have a gajillion movies/tv shows in my instant queue that I will never get around to watching because I can never pick from all the great stuff on there. I wish HBO shows were available for instant watch, there's some other things here and there I…
@avclub-6997a8bd0e1042b70b60c5c879a1780e:disqus basically what these guys said: its a cool scene, and one of the parts of the movie I liked.
I think a lot of people find Watchmen to be over rated because they focus solely on the story. And in terms of story its not a particularly groundbreaking book. Superheroes set in a real world, superheroes who were actually jerks and clearly not all there mentally, the grim and gritty tone, the graphic depictions of…
It doesn't capture the spirit of the original, and you actually mentioned one of the biggest reasons why it doesn't: Keanu is playing a quiet talking bad ass. These are not words that describe Constantine as he's usually portrayed in print. He's a con artist, never shuts up, and uses dirty tricks and his wits to beat…
Did you just mention Atlas Shrugged? That book/movie was awful! Now that I've said my piece I'm off to find a circle-jerk. Wait, scratch that! I'm off to find an angry circle-jerk.
The best couple of songs on Love Below are better than the best couple of songs on Speakerboxxx, but taken as a whole Speakerboxxx is clearly the better album. Track for track its way more consistent.
One minor point of disagreement with your review, Ryan: I don't think the father-in-law killing was Glaber's pivotal moment. I think it was that earlier scene with Ilythia. As soon as she tells him he's not worthy of an heir, and he goes from anger to that dead eyed stare it was clear something finally snapped in him.…
I'm kind of hoping he pulled through. After the shit that guy has done a simple spear to the armpit seems pretty anticlimactic.
The first two episodes are pretty fun in a so bad its good kind of way. If you can turn your brain off for a couple of hours it'll be worth it. For me at least the third episode is where the show starts to get its act together, and from there it goes very quickly from a guilty pleasure to episode after episode of…
I agree about the gladiator gear. Crixus and Oenamaus (or however his name is spelled) should have looked like the monsters they are, but next to the guys in helmets and shoulder pads and shit they looked pretty puny.
