I'm ok with the inside comedy stuff up to a point. Where hostful episodes really drive me up a wall is when they start talking about really mundane details of their daily lives. "Hey, I just moved into a new apartment!" "I went out to dinner with my girlfriend last night!" "I sure do like having a day job!" I do not

There was another recent episode where the guest (sorry, I can't remember her name and I'm too lazy to look her up) kept making snoring sounds whenever Matt Mira would talk. That was pretty funny, and definitely an instance where the sidekicks being around made an interview more entertaining.

I listen to them at work, and sometimes when I'm driving. But that's when I used to do the majority of my music listening, so I've recently scaled back on podcasts for just this reason. WTF and the Nerdist only get a listen if they get good write ups here or people are talking about them in the comments. Other shows,

Like two episodes ago they used a tractor beam to keep a ship from getting too far away from the station. Its definitely one of those pieces of Trek tech that works exactly as well as the plot for a given episode needs it to work.

A lot of times when Quark gets mentioned in the comments section, people ask how he could have been allowed to hang around this Federation run space station when he's hiring gangs of mercenaries and involved with organized crime or whatever. But Vortex actually caused me to ask another question: How is Quark able to

One really great Wallace Shawn related moment in "The Nagus." When Quark is freed from the airlock and Zek is storming down the hallway chewing out all of the other Ferengi, he's got his arms wrapped around his servant, the two of them halfway dragging, halfway carrying each other. A nice of way of showing that Zek is

I think a lot of HDTGM's problems could be fixed with even a little tiny bit of structure to the actual podcast. Like, maybe they could actually recap the movie before getting bogged down in talking about one scene for 10 minutes. Maybe talk about why something in a movie doesn't work instead of just "Holy shit you

That skit kills me, even though I totally recognize its stupidity. And the reason it kills me is exactly because of the image of the woman sitting there listening to that whole thing.

What's the Ghostface skit where the girl asks him for directions to Heart Street, and he starts talking Dick Street and Brown Tunnel or something? I always laugh at that, not because the jokes are funny, but because of what an asshole you'd have to be to actually give someone directions like that.

Best Show is awesome, as long as you spend a million hours making yourself listen to it, eventually conditioning yourself into thinking that its the most amazing thing ever. That's one of my favorites.

I didn't take it as a douchey remark at all. He misspoke out of ignorance, Maron corrected him, at which point Lawrence was like "Wow, in that case what he does is awesome." Not a big deal really.

I don't know about genuine feelings, but I thought that story about his answering machine was hilarious.

Yeah I thought as Nerdist episodes go they were pretty quiet this time around. If your main problem with the show is how much time the hosts spend talking over the guest then this is probably the episode for you. They all mostly stay out of Conan's way.

I really think its funny that Conan was able to sum up in one sentence (something to the effect of "everyone will have a show, and we'll all just trade off being guests on each other's show") what I find tiring about an awful lot of L.A. based comedy podcasts. I realize he wasn't talking specifically about podcasts,

I think the pilot is all you NEED. We're still early enough in the show's run that there aren't really any ongoing plots. This is still "hit the reset button by the end of the episode" type stuff. But yeah, if you want to watch the better episodes so far, I'd say Past Prologue and Captive Pursuit.

That moment bothered me a little. I'm sure this specific situation wasn't something she had prepared for, but at the same time it was pretty early on. All they'd really done is wander around some goofy corridors. Flying into a panic at that point seemed a bit of an over reaction.

Beulah was the only one of these bands I ever got into, they quickly became one of my favorites. When Your Heartstrings Break, Coast Is Never Clear, Yoko, they're all really awesome albums.

The song is indeed this stupid. Moreso, actually.

That was a head scratcher for me as well. Also, the game lasts hours. They disappear in the middle of the night, no one notices it til morning, it takes time to figure out what happened, and more time for the game to resolve itself. What the hell were they doing that took that long? When they show the game being

Yeah I thought it was pretty good. I was a little disappointed it didn't do better, I would have watched more movies in the same vein.
