It depends on what you mean by "bypass". Certainly you can just put in your passcode and not use your fingerprint. But as long as fingerprint ID is on, the police can force you to give them access to your phone by using your fingerprint. I don't know of a way to disable fingerprint ID without logging into your phone,

Fingerprints are faster than passcodes, which is why they introduced the feature in the first place. So this way, you can use your fingerprints for normal phone access, but quickly disable that feature in an emergency. I think it's a little naive to think that you're always going to know in advance when your rights

Sure, if you know in advance that you're going to be in a situation where police might try to gain access to your phone, you should turn off touch ID. But you might unexpectedly find yourself in such a situation. Turning off touch ID via the settings app takes 20 seconds (just timed it) and you have to be looking at

These monuments are not, and never were about the Civil War. They mostly went up in the 20th century, many of them in response to the Civil Rights movement. Whether in ex-confederate states or union states, they are explicitly about intimidating black people and boosting white nationalism.

Yeah, I missed Chvrches, Neko Case, and St Vincent.

I love Blue, but I think Hejira (and, on some days, Don Juan's Reckless Daughter) is better.

I was hoping this wasn't a list of the best albums by women, but a new canon of the best albums ever, which just happened to consist entirely of albums by women.

I was looking for Neko Case.

I disagree. Hejira achieves its goal. It's her best album, possibly the best pop album ever.

Spock didn't mention that Sarek was his father until he had to. He didn't mention that he had a crazy half-brother. Worf never mentioned that his grandfather was Kirk's attorney. Kirk never mentioned his brother before "Operation: Annhilate", and I don't think he ever mentioned him afterward. Star Trek has as much

My point is not that fans in general gave up on the reboot movies, but that I did. There is no reason for me to watch something that I find to be shitty just because it's Star Trek. In fact, the market has changed so much that there is room for both the Bad Robot movie series and Discovery, which seems to be aimed

I think the Classic series had 3 transitions to older actors and 4 to younger actors. There are no rules. I think the only tradition is that the Doctor should be a Brit of one sort or another.
But my regression analysis based on the Classic Doctors predicted that the 11th Doctor should have been 22 :)

I believe that's what I said, Doctor.

"I like biting. It's like kissing, but there's a winner!"

Yeah, I think that critique is really off-base.
There was a trend of the classic series Doctors getting younger over time, anyway.

The chief mate of the Pequod was Starbuck, a native of Nantucket, and a Quaker by descent. He was a long, earnest man, and though born on an icy coast, seemed well adapted to endure hot latitudes, his flesh being hard as twice-baked biscuit.

@crack_baby:disqus : Starbuck was the first mate of the Pequod.

@Officer_Meow_Meow_Fuzzyface:disqus nails it in one.

Tell that to the makers of "A Soylent Green Haggadah".

I dunno, but I'd pay to watch… Oh, did you mean who could portray Bester better than Koenig?
