The Fox and Wilderness on The Woods is another great one-two from SK.

50 to 100 milligrams of heroin can really mess you up and takes at lest that much coke to get a buzz on.

I was drinking till 10 am this Sunday morning. I am a loser?

Sonic Youth clicks better if you play guitar. They invent their own chords and tunings and create unique timbres, harmonics and song structures.

For Sonic Youth start with Sister, Daydream Nation, Goo, Rather Ripped or Sonic Nurse.

Lost isn't a show that you need watch every episode or in broadcast order; it's not as rigidly plotted as the Wire or Breaking Bad. There quite a few clunkers in the shows run. One with the back story for Jack Tattoos and the Jacobs back story episodes were pretty terrible. I love Lost because it was impressionistic

My most shameful pop culture blind spots are Philip K Dick and Kurt Vonnegut. I've read a bit, but I'm the type of reader who has a short attention span and usually has five books on the go.

He has a fuckin' gun in profile pick. He's headed for the psyche ward.

Trolls are like young children; if you ignore them they'll get bored. @avclub-7f7e803ee2d1481fd805f34086a52c37:disqus I'm glad this website heavily moderated because the internet lacks the social accountability of face to face and too many people use it as a means to vent their bigotry.

Listen to If It Was You and This Business of Art. They aren't as aggressive as Against Me! or Alkaline Trio but they are much rawer and punkier than Sainthood or Heartthrob.

If It Was You is my favorite. Good mix of indie scrappyness and pop hookyness.

Disney could reissue the original theatrical versions.

Marnie probably has always fantasied about dating and having weird, risky sex a with difficult, tormented artist type. Charlie was pretty easy to communicate with and he is for the most part very stable, but she got totally bored with him and the lack of drama in their relationship.

@avclub-1881baeccb7399f3452cd7f37cdb2b29:disqus I think Lena D described Hannah as her unrestrained id. I think Lena Dunham and the other writers view the characters foibles and flaws through lens of experience and write the characters as immature, sheltered and selfish as people are wont to be in their early 20s.

One line of dialog.
Elijah: "OMG! Hanna! I have cocaine."
It was Charlies and Ray's band reading Hanna's diary during a show. It was really clunky and painful and it took me out of the show.

@avclub-b31df16a88ce00fed951f24b46e08649:disqus I've heard that most of the coke confiscated by the DEA in one year (I don't have the link for the specific article) was  cut with antibiotics for factory farmed cows.

Lena Dunham is pretty self deprecating in her performance as Hanna, she isn't afraid to write Hannah as being selfish to point of delusion. Elijah was very self aware about his hook up with Marnie; he did it because he drunk and has some lingering confusing over his sexuality and it really had nothing to do Hannah

Yeah the opening seen was bizarre and rang false. Coke is one the most studied and depicted drugs ever. It's not 1974.

She has brilliant timing and delivery.
