So much Waits love in these comments I love it. I'd have The Band's version of "I Shall Be Released" playing at some point too.

I agree. I think I Speak Because I Can is still her best— it's what hooked me. A Creature I Don't Know has its great moments and is more easily digestible than this. I'm loving Once I Was An Eagle, but it's a lot to start with.

I would like to belatedly state for the internet to see that I don't think Clara's character is crap, just that, if they manage to resolve her mystery in a satisfying way, this series will be much more enjoyable upon re-watching. In real time, it's been frustrating because I haven't been able to grow attached to the

Fair enough, Whovian. I haven't been too impressed with Clara myself, but was hoping that that might be due to the fact that I'm doing something else while I watch… But seven episodes into season 5, Amy had a personality and had exhibited some growth. Clara seems oddly blank, and judging from comments here, it's not

Have you watched the prequel to the finale? The Doctor says, in effect, that Clara has always been too perfect. So it IS on purpose— here's hoping they go somewhere interesting with it

Bowie. Two Bowies are better than one.

Rory was even facing the TARDIS… Then he *turns around* to walk to that specific gravestone and goes "Oh, hey, Amy…."

I don't know about feeding on victims more than once, but I thought the hotel was rather a smart business move. Keeping people in the same rooms and letting them see themselves die creates a fixed point, ergo anyone who walks through the doors of the hotel becomes a definite victim — if they were allowed to leave

She had so much more perspective than Rose— in fact, I thought both Rose and Donna were a little naive, saying they would stay with the Doctor "forever"

That dance-off is still one of the funniest Colbert Report moments

I think that by nature, Doctor Who has so much going on it's hard to hit the nail on the head every week. I'm happy with a couple of great episodes per season as long as the rest are consistently good (and so far, this season's been pretty solid). I'd rank the pirate episode way above Love and Monsters. Matt Smith

I watched all of Fawlty Towers, plus John Cleese's brilliant commentary. I particularly enjoyed his pointing out the tiny little things that affect how funny something is: "See if I had tossed that more gently…", or "I didn't pop up from behind the counter just right…" Doctor Who on Saturday, and I discovered how much
