I still remember compuserve on a 400 baud modem. Now get off my lawn.

Is it really controversial to say that, throughout history, people have considered murder a "goodness" if used against people you don't like?

I think I started using elecsheep9 back in the days of AIM (AOL instant messenger) — late 90s. For simplicity's sake, I've stuck with it pretty much ever since.

That's my whole point! Moore is a gadfly — that's been basically his entire career for the past 25 or so years).

I've not seen the movie because, being the parent of a 4 year old and a one year old the three most recent movies I've seen in the theaters are Paddington, The Lego Movie (that one was for me) and Frozen, but your Veggietales analogy is false.

I can believe that Rogen's comment was ill-conceived and off-the-cuff. But if you take a look at Moore's facebook entry that linked to the tweets (Robutnik linked to them elsewhere in this thread), I think it is likely that Moore had more "malice aforethought" with his statements.

Both Moore and Rogen were intellectually dishonest with their back-tracking, but they back-tracked nonetheless.

Given the undoubtedly liberal bent of the AV commentariat (myself included), it is easy and obvious to side with Moore and Rogen and against the likely conservative middle-American who "banned" them from his restaurant.

Here's the thing…anyone who says that they refuse to eat at McDonald's because it tastes disgusting is simply lying. There are plenty of reasons to not eat at McDonald's, but taste is not one of them.

By the end of "Sequel" Harry and Sue's fates have done a 180 and, after spending the night together, Harry tries to leave money for her like a prostitute.

That has been my impression of the song as well for over 30 years.

Both of those answers make perfect sense.

So I've often wondered..Modest Mouse was a band of some note. I would venture to guess that they were big enough for them to have quit their day jobs. When a band like this goes 7 years without releasing an album (and I don't believe they are a constantly touring band) — what do the people in the band do with their

I long for a world where the X-Files-Factor is a real thing.

It was a really fun, entertaining show for the first few seasons. However, as soon as Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepard's characters got together, the show really just become so uninteresting. I can't recall such a huge decline in quality.

It's good to see that DMB still haven't figured out how to write a hook or memorable melody. I'm 40 and frightened of change.

Do places outside of the New York Tri State area not have delis?

Most egregious? Angela Lansbury was only 3 years older than Laurence Harvey and she played his mother in The Manchurian Candidate.

I just realized that both Ghostbusters and New Girl have black characters that are sorely underwritten (although NG's Winston's few lines are generally hilarious). That can't be a coincidence, can it? Most veiled homage ever?

The correct answer is that you liked them better when they were the Quarrymen, but you can appreciate the impact that the Beatles had on the world of music. And the only songs that ever truly spoke to you are "Revolution No. 9" and "You Know My Name, Look Up The Number."
