Yeah, I remember Billie Piper's pop career. The only song I remember is "Honey to the Bee."

Portrait Innovations
I worked at a portrait studio the beginning of my senior year for about 2 months. I was a secretary, answering calls, making appointments. There was a good amount of down time, so I would just chat with the other secretary who was around my age.
They eventually cut my position, but that was around…
Yeah, I worked at Old Navy for about a year-and-a-half during college breaks. I counted once, and found out that each disc had a 3.5 hours' worth of material on it.
To this day, I associate Modest Mouse's "Float On" with running clothes back to their rightful places.
@dougery: I also read Virgin Suicides, but preferred Middlesex over it. Most of the people that I know who have read both prefer Middlesex.
Yeah, there seems to be a good number of us here in the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. You can add an extra tour date, right?
The South
I went to a screening of Whatever Works this past week, and am writing a review for my school paper. That was the thing that irked me the most, so naturally I spent a lot of time talking about it.
I suggested a drinking game to "spot/listen for the Southern stereotype." You'll be on the floor before the…
I see nobody's mentioned this…
But could this have elements of Swan Lake? There's rival black and white swans in that tale too (Odile and Odette respectively).
$10 says that the ballet Portman is preparing for is Swan Lake. You heard it here first. I'm coming around to collect when this film is released.
Apple Auto Sales
In Charlotte, NC, we've had Apple Auto Sales, a car company, make some ridiculous ads all focusing around the spokes…preacher and his ludicrous pompadour.
To this day, I can't think of the word "heal" without hearing it as said by Rev. Rob (and these commercials came out 5-10 years ago).

Nice Writeup
I saw this in the theater when it came out, along with my sister, her friend and our mutual friend. The mutual friend and I loved it, and my sis and her friend hated it.
I should revisit it.
Katie's Boarding School
I was under the impression that Katie was there on an academic scholarship or something like that, because I don't think the Gavins would have been able to afford it otherwise.
That would also make sense with her lying and feeling insecure about her family.
I didn't see season 4, so was there…
I went to a private school for high school, and I had the principal for English in 9th grade. We read parts of the Bible, mostly Genesis and other parts of the Old Testament.
But, since it was a private school, nobody complained (to my knowledge, at least).
Yeah, but Weisz has the Oscar and Aronofsky doesn't. But I'm sure that's unspoken in their household.
Plus as Weisz says, she feels like she's only now starting to "figure it out". So you can look at some of these roles as missteps to her finding her way.
Damn
When I heard that Evan Rachel Wood was going to be in a Woody Allen film, I was all, "good for her" (supporting the hometown girl and all that). I somehow got the impression that she'd be playing a former debutante or something. But no, it's the opposite direction (because Southerners can only be genteel society…
A more accurate representation of the Raleigh accent would be that of Clay Aitken.
Dr. Strangelovecraft: Yes, Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill is the pink part of the state (I live here), but I have utterly no idea where that accent is coming from.
I haven't seen Ira David Wood as Scrooge, but I've seen the commercials.
What about
Halle Berry: Monster's Ball>Catwoman?
Yeah, I'm here down the road at N.C. State.
I was hanging out with my friend (a State alum) and her roommate (went to UNC) awhile back, and we watched a THS on Clay Aitken. I'm sure that when Anoop gets one, they'll Tivo it.
Anoop Dawg
Even if his music career isn't a success nationally, it will be locally (I'm from NC). So I'll still have to hear about him for years to come (like Clay Aitken).
I also found out that the best friend of a girl I work with is Anoop's cousin.
That eye part reminds me most of my dog, and even prompted one of my friends to say, "Bruno IS Kirsten."
But that's exactly how I felt too. That's what my dog does!
I agree that you have to be in the right frame of mind to watch it. It's one of my favorite movies and even though I own it, I only watch once every 1-2 years. But that keeps it special and good for me.
I think Mulholland Drive and Triplets were 1-2 years apart.
