Wow. Wacky Packages was firmly buried under about 1,000 other forgotten childhood memories only to be instantly yanked back to the top of the heap. I need to flip through that book pronto.

I haven't seen it yet but have heard many first hand accounts from trusted sources who have and it gets, like, B+/A- typically. My thought was, when I first saw the trailers online several months ago, just feeling out the subject matter, the content and approach, I thought "The 'hipster' backlash on this movie is

1972. I remember the bicentennial, Elvis dying, John Lennon being shot, Carter losing to Reagan, Reagan being shot, Belushi dying, the first space shuttle launchings…

Testament was my first show (outside of seeing Zebra with my parents at Six Flags when I was 9). I was 15 and they played with Vio-Lence and Santuary at Mississippi Nights in St. Louis. This friend of my older brother was living with us at the time and he took me downtown to the show. It was a really fun show if a

Anyway, she's even prettier than that pic up there. It's not a particularly flattering one of her, IMO. But she is super gorgeous and when you combine her gender/talent/genre, she's something like one in 100 million.

So good was he in B66 that I actually thought that was a special-needs actor. I mean, I wouldn't have put ti past gallo, you know? Until I saw Slums and i realized he was *acting*.

We're Stars? Tears Are Not Enough?
Will the Canadians and the metal community get their act together and pitch in?

Elvis, I mostly agree. It reminds me of Ebert's review of DC's "Crash" whereby he said that this movie is about a kink that no one practices, that it's a fictional fetish. And the first thing I thought was "I wouldn't be too sure about that."

We'll find out tomorrow! Or the day after that!

The reset: If you hate the idea then get ready to be disappointed.

I'm starting to think that the "5%" is the act of you turning the page when you damn well felt like it, something that you cannot bring to another medium.

Every last KPI from the comic is in that movie so I'm unsure what you could mean by the "5%" betraying the source material. Could you give an example of what you mean? As you can probably tell I loved, loved, loved this movie and am outright baffled by the criticisms, particularly those surrounding the performances.

yuck
I cannot abide by any of this.

@ A Yeah, avatar. Right.

Gee, you think?

Between Bananfish and Wire I have received the best music education one could hope for. It's so funny when I hear someone slam the Wire for being "pretentious" (everyone always uses that word incorrectly). And I'm thinking "What are *you* reading? Magnet or some shit? Go home."

You can zap past the commercials now OR at some later date. The point is: Content control and scheduling. Watch what you want, when you want!

BS
I can't believe this. The whole *point* of the DVR is to zap passed commercials. In fact, my wife and I, when we decide to watch a show "live" will intentionally tune in 20 minutes late just so we *can* zap through commercials.

Yea, having fun with a small-ish group of friends is lame. Soooo lame.

Yea ,it seemed a bit of a catch-all experience, when you throw in the dancing toy skeletons.
