Guy Fieri actually seems like a nice, enthusiastically positive, guy on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, I have no reason to think that he's an asshole but every aesthetic choice he makes is completely misguided, to an absurd degree.

Eh, I don't hate Sublime, I saw them live once, thought they were OK, never listened to them again. But this feature is about rants, and the measure of a rant is largely in how much people freak out about it. I think this was a success.

Oh right, I knew that. Seems like a smarter approach too.

How did it deal with the rape?

I think it's undeniable that thousands of people have died because they thought Lou Reed was super cool. I don't think that makes Lou Reed an asshole but mocking idiots who do heroin is probably a net positive.

Whining. How would you whine in a non-petulant manner? I thought "whinging" was just an alternate spelling of "whining", why do you need both words?

And I'm still pissed about Olivia Newton-John winning Best Country Female back in 1973.

She's no worse than Janis Joplin or Mick Jagger except she seems to have carried on the accent in her stage patter, not just her rapping, which I don't think you'd see Jagger do.

He only brought up Rollins in the context of fans copying his giant sun tattoo, I don't think you should imply any opinion about his writing, just that he has fans with equally unoriginal tattoos.

I checked out after the first two episodes of the last season but I did download the rest of the episodes in case I might want to catch up. I was already spoiled on this point but I don't really care, the statute of limitations is about 2 weeks, unless there are extenuating circumstances, e.g. an adaptation like Game

A lot of my favorite movies are comedies from the 50s and 60s that were adapted from plays. And there's a big difference between "Mary, Mary" and "A Thousand Clowns" but they're both terrific. I think what you're talking about is simply a prejudice, you're welcome to it but it has nothing to do with the quality of the

I also think they made a mistake programming the two big Eva Green showcases back to back. I found the flashback episode with her and Mina almost entirely uninteresting and while the next week's was better I really needed a break from Ms. Green's strenuous performance and couldn't really enjoy it.

He did two episodes of "Robin & Josie's Utter Shambles" with Robin Ince and Josie Long, one of which was mostly about Hammer films.

He's a pretty good podcast guest, I guess it's a shame if you hear him bitching about new movies more than enthusing about Hammer horror.

I think Young & Restless would say so,

Yeah, for me the finale was pretty good but the problem was that more generally the show didn't build my interest after the first couple episodes. It started out super-promising and it continued to be really good but it wasn't entirely satisfying to me. It's kind of like season one of Luck except that they knew there

If were going to pick anything over Mad Men it would probably be Veep or Silicon Valley, or maybe The Americans, but the show I'm happiest to see mentioned was Playing House because it's really good and hasn't gotten much attention at all. I think it's probably second-tier—better than Suburgatory or The Mindy Project

I haven't seen that but if we're going beyond American stuff I might put Uncle on top.

On of my friends has a Kelley Jones Deadman tattoo and I remember liking him a lot when he was doing that but his run on Batman is pretty much the nadir of awful, ugly 90s bullshit, at least for DC. Marvel had plenty of shit that tacky but I never read much of it.

I was going to say I kind of half liked Garden State but I think I'm probably thinking of Jersey Girl, which was not bad for a Kevin Smith film. I think I did see both of them but for the life of me I can't remember any detail about either one.
