Yeah, I was kind of amazed that he'd turned around his Fancy parody so quickly, this makes more sense though, better to be tolerable than timely.

Community did get them press but Enlisted might actually get them a decent sitcom for a lot less money. Buying Community is basically spending tens of millions of dollars on PR, there's no chance it will pay for itself in a conventional way so if they're not doing it to promote shows that could be profitable it

It was good, not great, kind of on par with Wreck-It Ralph but with brand-name references instead of plainwrap ones. I enjoyed it but if it ends up on best-of-the-year lists this will have been a terrible year for movies.

As an Archer, I'm conflicted.

I'd rather be pissed that Damien Hirst is worth $350 Milllion. I'm not pissed about that but it's better than begrudging this guy making a little windfall (with many attendant headaches) over some dumb meme.

The only British shows that are eligible for Emmys are ones that have some American funding so basically it means that we're effectively co-opting British TV. It's good news for viewers, probably for the business too since it means their license-holders are helping to fund our commercial shows.

Calling Ray Donovan mediocre is generous but I do think Voight was good enough that his nomination is one of the more deserved ones. I'm sure he'd have gotten it even if he sucked but I thought he was very good.

I'll be satisfied with Kathleen Rose Perkins getting work, Daisy Haggard getting American work would be good too but she's already in everything in England so it's cool.

There is a reference in there, "In the fall of 1955, audiences tuned in to see radio hero Matt Dillon in the flesh." which is a story I've heard my dad tell a hundred times. But yeah, they don't really get into the roots quite as much as they could.

I agree for Best Series but I'd still pick Ty Burrell over anyone in the best actor category, if not for the category he's actually nominated in.

This year I have a bit of trouble picking a favorite between Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Silicon Valley and Broad City. And Enlisted wasn't far behind. But three of those picks are bad; Modern Family and TBBT are way past their primes and Orange Is the New Black is clearly cheating, I would definitely like to see B99

Yeah, and as a non-fan I'm inclined to define stuff that overlaps as something else. I think (early) Swans and Big Black were not historically part of that lineage anyway, but I would prefer to call Godflesh something different basically because I like them. And there's probably a bunch of bands that I consider

Yeah, I guess I've probably only heard like 5%, that guy did so much stuff, but lets say what I know of his aesthetic pretty much defines why I don't like Industrial even though I do like its noise and metal and hardcore techno neighbors.

I hate basically everythng else Jourgensen ever did but that Sabbath cover is phenomenal.

Yeah, I'd agree with that because 90s industrial may be my least favorite music genre ever but Throbbing Gristle is awesome. I actually like a lot of the 80s stuff; Psychic TV, Leather Nun, Test Dept., even Sleep Chamber but I can't stand NIN or Skinny Puppy. I guess Crash Worship was a lot of fun live but I wouldn't

I guess since I don't really like the Clash (I mean they're OK, like my 7th favorite British punk band of the 70s) I can't relate. This is not one of the 50% of Clash songs that straight up sucks or the 5% that are great but it's in the lower half of the remaining mediocre songs. Definitely my least favorite song on

I think she's such a good actor that my hatred of Brenda carried over
into a few of her subsequent roles but I think I'd be ready to see her in something good again now.

I recently watched a three-hour documentary on Showtime about this famous rock band from the 70s, at the end of it I still couldn't tell the two main dickheads apart. Or rather their contemporary versions, they were different guys in the 70s but now they seem to be the same jerk.

There was a new pan-Asian fast food restaurant that opened near my work and they managed to screw up bahn mi something awful, as well as sushi, stir fries and noodle soup. If their bread had a reasonable crust on it it would be fine but they had some mushy Subway bullshit and it was terrible.

I used to love cheap bahn mi from real Vietnamese bakeries, in large part because they were so cheap, but I have to say the $10 places in New York make excellent sandwiches too. I wish I could still get the real thing but I don't work in Chinatown.
