What really made this season different though was that no one in that final three was undeserving of getting there. There were no goats. There were no villains. It was three people who played great games, surviving against long odds in many cases and hitting the outwit, outplay, outlast points brilliantly.

My wife only watched tidbits of this season, and when the jury was getting ready to ask address the candidates, I told her that I was only expecting bitterness from Abi.

Damn @avclub-f20009df133551a813e70d50bc24e15f:disqus , you've put a lot more thought into this than I have. But I'm sure you're right. Still, you could have subtitles (I almost misspelled that as sub-titties, kind of appropriate). You could still have "69 Shades of Gray; a 50 Shades of Gray XXX Parody" or if you

Christ, this is really a thing? I thought I was just lucky to fine that stash in the woods near my house as a kid. I had no idea this was part of a wider cultural experience.

See, I read his actions last night as super-experienced chefy… not necessarily good or evil, just experienced.

@avclub-499e67d4cd06284f915b191db84224ba:disqus I'm fairly certain that eliminating the redundant searching was the margin of victory in the challenge. Teams lose a lot of time searching mud pits that have already been picked clean.

Or consider how Penner treated Abi. She was going batshit crazy after tribal asking who voted for her. And after her paranoia points her in all the wrong directions, Penner proudly claims the vote. "Yeah, I voted for you. I was pissed off."

I'm betting that he saw his vote for Artis as a way of being loyal to Lisa even if he wasn't voting with her. He's seen enough of the Kalabaw dynamic to know that it isn't a monolithic tribe. It's a mix of pairs. If he and Lisa stay strong together, they'll have as much power as the Penner/Carter and Denise/Malcolm

Skupin had a little gem when he was talking about his game with Lisa. He mentioned that their agreement was to be honest with each other. Nothing more, nothing less. Given how they've both been playing, I have no doubt that she told him how she was going to vote. Did he tell her what he was going to do? Possibly, but

I do wonder about Pete's play here. In retrospect, he should clearly have seen that Lisa was right about targeting Malcolm, considering he did have an immunity idol. With a bit more finesse, they really could have knocked a big threat out of the game and secured an easy run to the finals. Instead, he lets Abi mouth
