Even if Tarantino had somebody else do it, (and now that you mention Roth's name, I remember that it was him)  hell, its Tarantino's movie - his vision - and ultimately his responsibility to be sure all the pieces fit together.

I must say that Inglorious Bastards was kind of ruined for me because the climactic movie looked NOTHING like the German movies made under the Nazi regime.
