You know, "capitalism runs on the blood of the workers" was supposed to be a metaphor about how evil these people are, not a literal description…

Eh, his being an evil bonehead is the one thing that keeps me from total despair. Competent evil would cause far more trouble

My not-at-all hot take: the B sides were better than the proper album

Best comedic yeller in the biz, no question

    Is it Valentine's day already?

Oh Dikachu, people don't do that kind of thing with fish!

Yeah, I caught those dudes on the tour for that album and Nels shredded the fuck out of pretty much every song. My memory could be a bit influenced by how incredibly high I was, but that show was amazing.

Wait, is Purdom really arguing that In Search Of… doesn't hold up? On a. coincidental whim I dug that out last weekend and gave it a listen and was actually shocked at how well it holds up. It's a solid record.

    Hey you! Join the Navy!

I see this comment thrown around all the time and don't understand it at all. The connection between economic despair and growth of far-right movements is pretty well documented. I mean, you've got to struggle, for instance, to come up with an economically-secure nation that ever embraced fascism. Or even in our own

You joke, but we very genuinely do need to

She didn't use shit, and I can't believe anyone is sympathetic to his MRA-style whining in this episode. Like, he didn't know she was engaged to someone else? Or is it that she "owes" him for daring to be a woman spending time with a man? Dev's got agency — he could have told her he wanted a romantic relationship

Just in here to say that the Newseum is a really great museum. Well worth the time. And now, with a guy's broken glasses!

So much for the tolerant right!

Yeah, what;s the problem with mocking consent? In my day, we just got raped and were happy about it! Kids these days!

"we can forget that in the writer's room, her only goal is "what's funniest." "

Then you missed the entire point of the review. It wasn't that Fey mocked college liberals so therefore she has bad politics, it was that the jokes had no point and weren't funny. I don't know how to do spoiler tags, so I'll just say that the next episode has a really great joke mocking these same concepts and it was

If you have to put something else in your beer to make it palatable, then there's something wrong with your beer. Why not drink a beer that doesn't require something to mask its skunky flavor?

I hope so, because otherwise that scene was insanely out of place on a show that's always tried to be really grounded and has never done an odd fantasy scene like that before. I thought that was a huge misfire.
