This is my most favorite comeback in the world. What game are we playing? How do you know who won? Is it a point system, or is more subjective-style judging like in gymnastics? And if the latter, I would like to see all scores before deciding who won. You know the French judge is screwing up the overall scores.

This is a dumb comeback. David Clarke is Black and says BLM is a terrorist organization, so he has to be correct, right?

What I love about the AV Club is coming across the phrase "wise words from a well-pounded vag" and having it make complete sense in context.

But it has to be this response, right? This is how it always goes:

They're really not — like pretty much all military attacks since the people have been attacking other militarily, they're largely motivated by political and economic concerns, with religion merely being the excuse. Much like out invasion or Iraq. Or Vietnam. Or (insert the majority of wars here).

The simple trick to remember is that no corporation ever, for any reason, wants to hand power to workers. As such, any time they use that language, you know they're trying to fuck you over extra-hard, just in a slightly different way than usual.

Hey! This shrimp isn't frozen! And it smells weird.

Bingo! McCain's position as some sort of maverick who bucks the party was always more branding than actual action (as this post makes nicely clear, it was always rhetoric at best). But signing off on Palin, whom he reportedly hadn't even met yet, was the moment he officially lost any ability to even pretend he was

What's worse than that is these people have to do these gestures of kindness or most every White person will assume they were involved, or at least approve of the attacks

Just like it's terrifying that British and American savages routinely bomb Mosques, funerals, hospitals, schools, and other civilian-heavy areas. Except we don't get fawning reports about the dead children in those, because it's not sad when Brown people die.

Agreed. I will never understand the provincialism of New Yorkers — they talk about how worldly they are, and yet all they seem to understand or care about is one city. Few tropes need to die faster than the "Only in New York!!1!!1!!" shit like this. Other cities also have cabdrivers and people living their lives.

Unless we want to invade that particular nation, in which case, those become bad things pretty much instantly

Well, these same people are also raging anti-Semites while also insisting on supporting the state of Israel in every way possible. They may not be the most intellectually-consistent group of people.

Geez. Given that Season 2 sees him mostly upset about having a high-paying job that requires little effort and living a life most can only dream about, and now in real life he's complaining that people enjoy his show and really want more of it, I'm starting to think maybe success has gone a bit to Ansari's head.

Hey! They technically died in Minnesota!

"governed by the strict Sharia law"

Right, but pretty much all work involves a lot of tedium and repetition. Except for the other 99.999% of the population, we're not rewarded with millions of dollars and international fame for going through that tedium and repetition.

Yeah, the review is maybe a bit too polite to the band: "the band is careful to avoid indulging in self-pity" — well, sure, other than starring in a full-length documentary about how hard it is to be them. Other than that, though, I'm sure they avoid self-pity.

"but I do know she didn't even try."

I'm a huge fan of the interaction I've seen about a dozen times on the Rock story wherein a troll posits this as proof positive the (D)emocrats are out of ideas (side note: why do they insist the D be in parentheses? Is this another subtle antisemitic thing or something?) because they're running this bozo. Then
