I also enjoy the staff likes. The True Grail, of course, is the staff reply. I prefer the "Well said" and "I agree with you" end of the spectrum to the "this is the phone number of a well-regarded rehab facility" or "I've called the police" reply, but if I'm honest, I've got to admit that I'll take what I can get.

I never actually cared WHO liked my comments; it's always been a numbers game for me, buddy. This is America, dammit! Anyone who cares about quality rather than quantity can move to friggin' Europe, where they can drink wine out of their fancy-schmancy glass bottles, instead from a box like a red-blooded American

The sire nonsense is still driving me nuts. But the episode nailed Klaus.

Right? I wondered if it was because he had played the occasional villain before (I know he was Meyer Lansky in "Bugsy"), but none of them were particularly bad-ass.

Terrance Stamp? That's weird. I always think of him as bad-ass. Kneel before Zod!

Ben Kingsley in "Sexy Beast." Prior to watching that I'd only seen him in "Gandhi," "Twelfth Night," and "Searching for Bobby Fischer."

My real problem isn't the existence of bits and pieces of plot that suggest that the siring phenomenon is being inconsistently handled. It's the near complete lack of evidence that it applies to Elena at all.

I'm….dissatisfied. Not because this week's episode makes my comments last week about the siring plotline being a red herring look stupid. I don't mind being wrong—I throw out my predictions about where an ongoing story is headed knowing that it's a bet I might lose. I play my hand bragging about how I'm going to rake

I tend to see its mode and placement as the writer's way of getting us to believe it, not as being proof that it's actually true. I know that if I were a writer I would love to mess with viewers' heads that way—"ha ha, you were looking at presentation, not character!" But I may just be unusually sadistic.

I'm going to give the writers a little more credit on this. As I mentioned earlier, my objections to the scene where Caroline presented her siring theory had more to do with the fact that I didn't think anyone would find it credible. The early reactions on the comment section suggest otherwise, so if it was
