Anybody remember Savage Bees, aan awful made-for-TV killer bee movie from 1976? The solution for thwarting the killer bees was to lure them into the newly built Superdome and lower the temp below 45 degrees thereby killing them.

I also call bullshit on HBO releasing the DVD's with only two episodes per disc.

I saw Rush about three months ago in NOLA and they absolutely nailed La Villa Strangiato live, just spot on. Great show, too. Love the Pinkpop live clip from '79 of it. http://www.youtube.com/watc…

I love me some Damian Lewis. He can also do a pretty impressive White Wedding, Billy Idol-style. It's cool to see him cut loose. http://www.youtube.com/watc…

I'm sick of seeing Tarantino around New Orleans. Not sure if it was officially announced but the movie will be filmed in the area and you can't go more than a few days w/o seeing him in a coffee shop, restaurant, or bar around town these last few months. And of course when you see him everyone starts with the foot

Don't forget Sonny, the bad crazy Cage NOLA movie he directed and had a small part in.

I respectfully nominate "Dirty Knife" by Neko Case, about a family gone batshit crazy from lead poisoning. (I think)

It's been awhile since I listened to it, but on the commentary for that episode I believe they mention that Harry Shearer hated doing Otto's voice. And that Christopher Guest was a royal pain in the ass.

"You's fancy pants, all of youse"

Lewis Largent was the absolute worst. Paul Westerberg asked him what his favorite Replacements song was and he couldn't even think of one. "Uh, gee, Paul, they're all my favorite!" Dumbass.

Didn't Kennedy host the show for awhile too? I remember her trying to interview J Mascis that was the most painful thing to watch ever.

Yeah, that was a pretty big stretch.

John Fogerty - Alligator Hunter
He was in NOLA a few months ago renewing his wedding vows with his wife and had the whole family on one of the swamp tours you can take, pretty funny http://www.youtube.com/watc…

I re-watched it with the closed-captioning and you can hear Big Chief say off-camera from the bedroom ,"Is this gonna be in your movie?", and a woman saying, "It's not that kind of movie!". So yeah, most definitely docu-lady.

Ha! Yeah, that was a nice touch.

They don't throw the shoes, they hand'em to you if you're lucky.
They don't throw the coconuts either in Zulu, although Nelson chunked a long coconut pass to his buddy.

Have you seen the fucked up video for Mr. Ghetto's "Walmart" bounce song? It was filmed at the walmart on Tchoupitoulas and it'll leave your jaw agape. http://www.youtube.com/watc…

@Bfred, I've been in a few bars that buzz you in but haven't seen any of these shops you speak of. And while you're right, the city has problems(crime and infrastructure, chiefly), it's not quite the "trainwreck" you make it out to be. Inc.com had a good story about NOLA last week, http://www.inc.com/articles… . I
