Also, see Stooges Brass Band if they're playing . You won't be disappointed.
And I'm saying Lobsters is from Metairie," I'm from Metry brah!"

Southern Rock
1989 was also the last hurrah for Guadalcanal Diary, Georgia Satellites and Jason & the Scorchers. All damn fine bands.

Hyden's Most Indelible Impression
I thought for sure it would've been his Ke$ha shine. And by indelible, I mean inedible. Or do I have the wrong Steven?

In more important news…
Neko Case recently joined Twitter and is awesome.

Thompson's one of the founding fathers of AV Club and I believe the music editor of NPR now.

Good to hear
I'm glad to hear this movie is decent. Most movies filmed recently in the New Orleans area seem to suck. It caused all kinds of traffic diversions which was a royal pain in the ass.

Megan Mullaly was also almost cast for the Elaine role. That might've worked, but yeah, Dreyfus was perfect.

The Law and Disorder report on the Danziger Bridge police shootings post-Katrina in New Orleans was pretty great too.

LIB, Tad Kubler from The Hold Steady was her boyfriend. Although at a recent NP's show she said something about being dumped so maybe that's history.

Holy shit! That's some righteous anger being spewed by Mr. Rich.

I am digging all this Topsy- Turvy love. Gilbert and Barker's telephone conversation always slays me,
"I am going to hang up the telephone now!"
"Indeed you are, sir." http://www.youtube.com/watc…

Anybody remember what song was playing while Ed was attacking the downstairs neighbor lady? I kind of remember it being a Partridge Family tune and being extremely creepy.

Ack Ack, Dr. John is no more cajun than Adam Sandler is. He is a New Orleans original, though. Good for The Night Tripper. Here's a clip from his performance on SCTV, http://www.youtube.com/watc…

Skip Bayless
Ugh, I hope he's not on too much. I loathe that guy. Didn't he start those "Aikman is gay" rumors in the Dallas newspaper?

Hell, some of the SEC guys are probably making more money playing football than the pros are. And as a Saints fan I can't wait to see them kick some Noel Murray Falcon ass later this year.

Oh, they're real, and they're spectacular.

We'll trade you Les Miles for Mark Richt, straight-up!

I'm still waiting for Eddie to belt out a tune on the show. The actor playing Eddie is a big-time opera singer for the New York Met.

I always got a kick out of Elton John singing "Crocodile Rock".

Rationalist, you, sir, are a goddamned idiot blowhard.
