Woodrugh, eh? Hmmm.

Real Dicks

Fair enough. My complaint wasn't that I expected constant laughs just because she's a comic. The feature just didn't resonate with me for whatever reason, but obviously it did with some.

That's because in the types of conflicts we're in nowadays, there are never any decisive, heroic victories.

"There are only a few simple principles to keep in mind when operating a sophisticated piece of machinery like this…"

My attention was immediately drawn to the next answer, as Ben Franklin was obviously never president. I wonder if that was a joke answer.

I bet that one killed at the show in front of the crucifix.

She's allowed to write whatever she wants, sure, though it amazes me anyone would get paid to write a piece like this. The tone of the article is just very weird. If I'm being generous it's a lengthy, mostly unwarranted humblebrag. If I'm not being generous, it's delusional narcissism. (I'd prefer to be generous

Tigermilk is the B&S album I've listened to the most, so that's actually the one that's most responsible for how I feel about the group. I do think we're miscommunicating a bit here. I'm not saying B&S made a calculated attempt to become successful by being phony or anything like that. They just choose to express

I don't see that this piece is making that claim at all. Maybe others are, but not this one.

That wasn't a hit. I don't think it was even released as a single. I know the Boss has recorded a lot of political stuff, but for the most part those weren't the songs that made him huge. His three highest charting singles in the US were "Hungry Heart," "Dancing In The Dark," and "Glory Days." ("Blinded By The

How many of Springsteen's big hits, i.e. the decades-old songs that afford him the ability to sell out concerts today, were protest songs? Did he even have one hit that was overtly political? (Key word: Overtly. I think most people who liked "Born in the USA" for example missed or didn't care about the actual

I'll admit I don't know their origin story. I just sense a lot of affectation in their music and cover art. This sounds worse than I mean for it to be, since I think they're good and, paradoxically, probably very genuine when it comes to their artistic motives. However, Taylor Swift is known for being an open book

How about one song that addresses both? She could even call it "The Wage Gap (Sexual Assault Under-Reporting)." Straight to the top of the charts, I'm sure.

Will you?

Their entire presentation, or at least the portion of it that I'm familiar with, seems highly stylized and fussed-over to me. This is fine by me, but they struck me as an odd example to use given what you were saying overall.

Aww, bummer.

Sorry, but I'm not too concerned about whether you think what I said is verifiable. This is a message board, not a scientific journal. But I will point out that I said "almost impossible" as opposed to impossible.

I'm really confused. This article is ostensibly about thanking others, and yet it's almost absurdly self-congratulatory. Does this woman think she's famous or something? Is she doing shtick? I will readily admit I have no idea what's going on here.
