@avclub-48c0b3cf0c62e40eeff5a9b07a63d953:disqus - you're right. I, personally, liked Atonement a lot, and I came into it with a lot of apprehension, having loved the book. I thought it did it a lot of justice, and that Dunkirk shot is breathtaking.

I love The Assassination of Jesse James by the Interminable Title, and I'm not going to argue that it's not the best movie of 2007, but it also faces stiff competition from No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Zodiac, Eastern Promises, Gone Baby Gone, and Michael Clayton, to name a few. All great movies, imho.
