I understand.  In a way, aren't we learning about Jenna's character by the fact that she herself isn't moving past this cliche, that she is too fixated on sex to have a meaningful, genuine relationship with a guy?  I suppose we don't know (yet) if that's what the writers are aiming for or if they are merely lazily…

He's still in high school.  It's his senior year, I believe.  I don't think it's reasonable to expect a high schooler to move out of his parents' house, whether he's 18 or not.  And most high school seniors turn 18 during their senior year.
