I love this movie for pretty much the same reasons you hate it. It's a really good background documentary. I've "seen" it a couple dozen times, but only sat down to watch it once or twice. I like that it's not purely Fugazi performance madness wall to wall.

I love the audio work in The Gladiators. Really odd computer noises spitting out the commands to send the combatants to their death. It was a tiny thing, but it really stuck with me.

It most certainly does. This movie leaves an impact, for sure. Also essential Peter Watkins: The War Game.
