You had me at "prominent Blues Explosion". I'm surprised at how little they've shown up on soundtracks (although that was one of the highlights of "Scream 2").

I think you mean Illyana (Magik). Illyria is the demon from Angel that… possesses Fred's dead body or something.

I'm a homeowner, and I had guacamole on an English muffin for breakfast, so, fuck this guy, is what I'm saying. (I didn't know avocado toast was such a big thing, though.)

I originally got an iPad because it was cheaper than a year's subscription to the newspaper, which I was only subscribing to for the crossword anyway.

Considering how much they make off of it, they really need to up their constructor pay.

Or Swell Communication!

I don't believe they have officially ret-conned it, they've just managed to mostly avoid mentioning it for the last 20 years. I think the last time it came up, they were like, "yeah, he *might* be immortal but we're not really sure."

Seven different covers and not one by Bachalo? Boooo.

I found both AvP movies extremely forgettable, but my "worst of the franchise" award has to go to Alien^3. The first 20 minutes are intriguing but it's followed by people just running around tunnels for an hour. Fincher was right to disown it. Prometheus at least has some decently creepy body horror stuff, which most

Hey, drafting Oden was a no-brainer at the time! (Sam Bowie still stings, though.)

Doctor Who?
Deadpool?
Radiohead?

I'd never heard of it until this post, either, and I just woke up from a dream twenty minutes ago about Scarecrow being framed for the Tin Man's murder. Somehow, the Beach Boys' "Endless Summer" played a part in the whole thing, too.

I haven't seen them in years (since they toured for Sumday) but I was always impressed by how their drummer (Aaron Burtch) would manage to constantly be smoking, while drumming, and never manage to set his massive beard on fire.

Maybe stop medicating the hay fever with whisky?

My own Yo La Tengo disaster happened the only time I went to see them and they had a big roulette wheel that determined what they were going to play that night. An audience member gave it a spin and we got "Sounds of the Sounds of Science". Yay, a whole set of ambient instrumentals.

I'm bummed that the next issue will be the last of the Aaron & Bachalo run.

I liked his work on X-23. I think perhaps it was the color palette of Black Widow as much as anything that made it drag a bit, just so much red wash over everything. The story itself was a bit disjointed, which didn't help.

Although, in regards to "artists don't sell books", the fact that Noto's doing the art has me a little intrigued. That's what got me into Liu's X-23, which I ended up liking a lot (just in time for it to end, naturally).

Speaking of which, I remember the Animatrix shorts being pretty good.

"Photoshop, obviously."
