Actually, "Paint a Vulgar Picture" Is in my top three, along with "Handsome Devil", and "Jeane". And don't get me wrong, I love the mournful stuff, too; I'm really just getting tired of The Smiths being poster children for sad-sacks. I really blame that 500 Days of Summer movie, to be honest.

I've always felt like I'm in the minority when it comes to my preferred Smiths material. I'm fine with the morose stuff, like this song, "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out", or "Asleep", but they also seem to get an undue amount of attention sometimes, and get purported to represent what The Smiths were like

I like Barnwell a lot, too and his podcast with Mays during the NFL season is a fun listen. I could also just go for reading about Barnwell trying to gamble in Vegas all the time.

Jesus, I don't remember the last time I checked in on 538, either. Maybe I just have a short attention span?

Hey, I'm an awful human being, but I'm not THAT bad.

I guess that's probably my biggest disappointment regarding how things went down, and Grantland presently - I miss his podcasts.

I know he has his detractors, but I'm really looking forward to this. I've basically given up on Grantland in the past few months - I don't even know what it is anymore.

I'm just kinda baffled, and disappointed, that he skipped playing in Eugene, Oregon, considering the thrust of the album and all.

Whoever wrote this and said that the opening is a dead ringer for "Crooked Teeth" needs to go listen to "Choking Tara" by Guided By Voices. To me, it's almost an exact copy of that. But unintentionally, I'm hoping.

Yes. 100 Broken Windows is one of my all-time favorite albums, and I cannot push it on people often enough.

Thank god someone here is a rational human being. Way to miss out on enjoyable parts of life, people.

If they're smart, they'll just do a song for Game of Thrones, since that seems to be the surest path to popularity at this point.

I'll be honest, I barely know anything about Boris, and was surprised they were the pick for B, but based on everyone's effusive reaction, I may have to go check it out now. And, fwiw, I liked the rest of the list a lot.

I guess they're all fine, but to me, BTS is one of my favorite bands based on what they did in the 90s.

I wasn't so sure about "B", and couldn't figure out why Built to Spill got overlooked, but then I checked and realized that they really haven't done shit in the 00s.

I'll throw WU LYF out there, too, with the addition that it wasn't so much just as they were becoming successful, as just when they were getting started and I was falling in love with their album. In fact, it doesn't really reflect well on me that there are so many bands on this list that I love. I don't know if

I totally thought of Crash of Rhinos when I saw the title for this.

Oh, god, that's right - that would have been before Yanqui. I lose track of time so easily, it seems like.

I guess that's another issue I had with the second half of DCFC's discography - Transatlanticism sort of blew up in concert with the Postal Service, and I know for my wife, at least, because of a certain song being featured on The O.C. So, to have a bunch of new people experience DCFC was nice, but I just worry that

I really hope they played "Rockets Fall on Rocket Falls" at that show.
