Even if they do show her taking Meereen by the end of season 3, they don't need to sit her out of season 4 of the show. Season 4 will combine plot elements of SOS and AFFC. And ADWD takes place simultaneously with AFFC. So they will have parts of Dany's book 5 adventures in season 4.

You're going into the story with the (obvious) assumption that Dany and her dragons play a major role in ASOIF's end game vs. the Others (white walkers). And this is probably correct, and we are still on track for that ending through book 5.

I think it's pretty clear in both the show and the books that Varys is actually trying to do what is best for the common people of the 7 kingdoms. I think Varys is being set up as one of the biggest actual heroes of the entire series.

Seriously? The experts' expert can't tell the difference even though that difference has been clearly spelled out in both mediums several times?

that was an incredibly ill formed theory

i couldnt get the cyrus song out of my head during the ending.

when gendry says arry will be his lady, he means in the sense that she is high-born and cannot be his family.

yeah youre probably right… i guess it's just wishful thinking on my part that they'd devote more time to dany's story in season 3.

i considered that, but that would mean dany's not going to be doing much of anything in episodes 6, 7, 8 and 9, right?

show spoilers…

needs more patchface

that line will totally make up for when she spends 800 pages of book 4 crying hysterically.

there was no greater disappointment for me as a reader of the five books to turn the page and see  BRAN centered in bold type. The character just doesn't work, especially as a POV. The show could save him by making him a minor character.

book 5 spoilers

Loved the Scorsese "Casino" references.

will you just stop please

it doesn't make a lot of sense that they'd cut off jaime's hand if they are bolton men — and not the brave companions, does it? the boltons made a deal with tywin, so why would they cut off his son's sword hand? it made a lot more sense when they were loose-cannon mercenaries who reported to roose bolton.

book 3 spoiler — i cannot BELIEVE dany doesn't buy the unsullied and set them against the astapori slavemasters in this episode! what are they waiting for?

I am confused… Showtime.com and IMDB and wikipedia all call this episode 'the motherfucker with a turban.'  Where or how did you get the name "In Memoriam"?
