Boy that DrFlimFlam comment hits home. I used to spend hours on A.V. Club, for example, but at some point it just became unfeasible. And I don't even have kids or a significant other.

I might've liked GTA 5 if it was purely escapist. Unfortunately, the writers saw fit to insert crappy satire all over the place, including character dialogue.

I think Episodes from Liberty City were the best GTAs of the PS3/360 generation. The first episode (Lost and Damned) nailed the seriousness that IV was going for, and the second episode (Ballad of Gay Tony) nailed the satire that V was going for.

"Problematic" is just a way of begrudgingly admitting "okay, maybe this isn't actually a problem, but hear me out, okay?"

Fucking this, man. I used to love this site, but now it's become a caricature of what it once was. Over the course of a year or so, the dominant writing style has gone from pithy and empathetic to bitchy and self-absorbed. I just can't relate anymore.

The other people involved in this film give me hope that it will be more than mediocre. Also, Abrams loves the hell out of the original trilogy. He just might put in some extra care to this film compared to his previous ones.
