Downtown Dallas has The Spaghetti Warehouse, which actually is contained within an old factory building. I always liked the food, even though my wife (from New Jersey) always tells me it isn't real, authentic New York Italian food. They've franchised out and I doubt the quality is the same, for whatever that's worth.

It wasn't the volume (mics, amps, and speakers are really useful). It was the apparent inability to form coherent sentences once placed in front of a microphone. Didn't see that one coming.

To be fair it did take up a large portion of our budget.

Definitely the more personalized and cheaper way to go (probably even if you have to rent the PA). But there is something to be said with hiring someone who can competently speak into a microphone. Tried it with some buddies with less than stellar results.

Same here. An extra PC, a PA system we already had, and the proper cabling meant I was able to include all of TMBGs Fingertips. Which probably wasn't great for dancing, but it made us laugh.
