I guess it depends on the subject, natural aptitude, the environment the student was brought up in, nutrition and sleep habits, institutional bias, etc.

Spirit is totally awesome. Like the time their logistics was terrible enough that they didn't have pilots/crew available in the city to make a flight that had been planned for months. But hey, at least they gave us the option to either shell out money for a hotel room on short notice or sleep in the airport!

Indeed. I just meant at that age there is almost no sense of pop-culture fatigue. I saw all the Rambos, Death Wishes, Eastwood westerns, Delta Forces, etc. and it all just registered as "awesome". That healthy does of cynicism doesn't truly take hold until the early teen years.

And yet 8 or 9 year-old-me couldn't get enough Schwarzen-swagger. Weird how that happens.
