It's funny because Pixar basically started the trend of big celebrities in animated movies with Toy Story. Sure there were a few here or there like Robin Williams in Aladdin, but most of the big animated features had no-names in the lead roles. Yet since then Pixar has also showed remarkable restraint, with some of

I'm definitely going to watch it soon. We're going to Ireland in September and I know absolutely nothing about the Book of Kells. I mean, I always wanted to watch it anyway, but sometimes it takes a little extra motivation to actually get around to something when my entertainment options are so broad.

This seems like the kind of story that should be on Literally Unbelievable.

I loved them, too, and am more cautiously optimistic than skeptical. I've been looking forward to seeing what she does next for a while. If she was good at writing one type of thing, maybe she'll be good at writing a different type. Fingers crossed.

No, actually, Happy Feet WON the Academy Award.

That's a great point. I do love it when an animated movie uses great voice actors instead of trying to get more famous names.

Did anyone here actually see Puss in Boots? I've seen a lot of hate for it, and sure I've assumed it was terrible because it's a Shrek spin-off of a character that wasn't funny to begin with, but the reviews were pretty decent, and I'm wondering if I should put my prejudices aside and rent it.

I was surprised by that, too. Though, in all honesty, I watched Winnie the Pooh at home and fell asleep before the end. What I remember of it was charming.

I agree. I'm no fan of Larry the Cable Guy's stand-up, but if it were a well-respected actor/comedian doing a "dumb southerner" character as Mater instead I don't think Cars 2 would have received the same level of hatred.

The quote from The Age of Wire and String makes it sound like a book-length game of Taboo. I try to be open-minded but that sounds excrutiating. And this book has a "similarly skewed glossary"? Pass on this guy.

Also: E! needs to upgrade to HD on DirecTV. The Soup is the ugliest show I watch, but I still love it.

It's been a long time since I read the books, but didn't Ron become an even better Quidditch player than Harry? I feel like I remember him becoming a star athlete.

Tonight I'm watching: Stephen Tobolowsky perform a live Tobolowsky Files! Very exciting. Nobody I know who I've told about this understands exactly why I'm excited to see a (relatively) obscure character actor deliver a monologue about his life, but as a long-time fan of the podcast I can't wait.

I was confused at first, but I think it's just because almost every single other paragraph in every What's On Tonight is sarcastic (or at least whimsical), but re-reading the same entry in a sincere tone it seems there's nothing inherently less-than-sincere in the actual words.

Suddenly, a Dawes rang out!

How does Satellite Dish handle spoilers? I'm never caught up with TV so I can't listen to many TV podcasts. Only Firewall & Iceberg because they are so good about including time signatures for what shows they talk about so I can skip the ones I don't want to hear about.

Thanks! I see the first one is free so I guess I'll at least download that one. I guess I should buy the second half of that story then, at least? If it's on sale? I don't know. I'm hesitant!

Thanks!

I'm confused as well, @avclub-1922cc1dc1286b56a2d99b7f1aa0630c:disqus , I thought it was like six-episodes this year and seven next year.

For Doctor Who superfans: I'm going to Belize in May, and planned on spending a couple afternoons at my lodge sitting on the terrace and looking at the river/jungle while reading a book. Then I thought maybe an audio book would be better because I could keep my eyes on the beautiful scenery. THEN I thought… Doctor Who
