This has been happening at my work too. I was out the past 2 weeks but came back to signs everywhere saying beware of birds. I want to carry around a tennis racquet, just in case any get too close.
Everyone you ask says it's its own fish. While pike perch is the translated name, that just helps describe what it looks like. If it was here, it'd probably be called Zander as well.
I usually make mine with aperol, as campari is a bit more of a bitter punch.
For the vermouth, there's plenty to do with it, but it's also enjoyable on the rocks as a post-dinner drink. Just make sure you refrigerate it. It's wine. Treat it like that.
