I think brands (and aside from that, tiers of options) matter more. I don't smoke, but I've had a few cigars in my time. The best ones I've had were cubans, but my friends were the ones picking them out and knew what to go for.

I've had my eye on Authority. A friend lent me the full Planetary run a few years back, and while I did get a lot of the allusions and references made, a lot of Authority stuff was lost to me.

I'm a big fan of sleeper, but haven't read any wildstorm comics. I thought it stood alone fine, but as someone who's read both, would you say more is added to Sleeper having read any/everything from the wildstorm universe? It just seems like too much for me to jump into.

I'm looking forward to it. It can be a self contained story, whereas something like Sleeper would need a long run (better as a series).
