For the previous XCOM I did save scum, but only reloaded if someone died (and not even all of the time, if the char was meh, they stayed dead). Now that I'm playing FE Fates: Conquest I opted for playing Hard/Casual, that way I don't need to save scum as if a char dies they're not dead forever. I just don't have time…
