I don't know that I've ever been more disconnected with a reviewer on AVClub.

I agree with you completely that Dawn's demand was entirely in character - essentially being a show of force. I disagree that the Beth stabbing was stupid, other than her missing Dawn's jugular or something for no reason - there was no way that pair of scissors wasn't going to be used after she hid it in her cast.
"Settled into the role properly" is a bit generous, but he's good enough now to not be distracting. That's how I choose to see it.
I read that as "especially since they're introducing Linkin Park in a couple of episodes."
I'm pretty sure he was a big part of The Stick of Truth, but I could be remembering it wrong… damn I need to replay the game.
I only now just caught up to this episode after binging through 1 and 2 and I have to wonder why every main and supporting character on this show HAS to learn how to kick ass with martial arts. It made sense with Roy, and it only makes sense for Laurel because Sara is now "dead" (who knows how long she'll stay that…
While I haven't had a chance to see it yet (part of the "DVR" audience) I'm hopeful that now they have a goal (get the guy to Washington, I hope) it will take a better and more consistent turn.
Just terrible to think we won't get to see what amazing roles he still had in him. Thoughts and condolences to his family.
I must be the only one around here who's conflicted about this episode.
But that's what I mean, this seems like the most unnecessary plot contrivance of the show that they've done to this point. Maybe I'll feel different after watching it again :/
Which isn't to say it wasn't beautiful, as the show always is, but this episode is the least "makes sense without knowing what happens next" episode they have ever done. And that is certainly it's biggest sin.
But goodness knows I will certainly acknowledge that the sex scene was one of the most complex scenes I've ever… seen. Does that make it good? I honestly am the most conflicted about this episode than I have been all season. And in a way I frankly felt a bit during the last episode too. Is it all coming off the rails?…
Really there's no way for this to end with Will killing Freddie, so I do think it's a little absurd that this has been suggested at this point. I mean, I appreciate that Will is having a bit of fun with her, but in this instance I feel it's a little bit necessary for the hero to have the audience in on what's going on
I mean, I guess I don't know what they would call it otherwise, do you?
Sorry if this is awkwardly late, I only just now decided to read some of the JLU reviews.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Haha, no dogs this week :/
Jack doesn't have the same power that Will does in those situations. He's still just trying to play by the book as much as he can, until Will can offer him up something a little more concrete.
The interesting thing about this review is that there's part of me that maybe wants to agree with the B review, but Todd worded it so harshly I was surprised he gave it even that high, nawwhati'msayin'?
I actually think this is the first time the Fuller post was put out so early. Usually it doesn't go up until around… this hour of the night.
