It's terrible, but Franco gives a Denzel Washington in Training Day level charismatic performance.

I'd be willing to wager that we open Season 4 with supplies running dangerously low and Rick, Daryl, Carl, Michonne, and a few others on a road trip to find other communities out there.  If we spend more than 2-3 episodes at the prison itself, I'll be shocked.

The character had unrealized potential, but the actress was dreadful.  Andrea of the comics was a fiery 18-year-old sharpshooter.  Laurie Holden was twenty years too old for the part and has no range outside petulant/pragmatic.  The final Darabont casting error is finally gone, and good riddance.

Michael Bay's: The Joy Luck Club

"I'll be all around in the dark. I'll be ever'-where - wherever you
can look. Wherever there's a fight so hungry actors can party, I'll be
there. Wherever there's an agent refusin' to rep a guy, I'll be there . . ."

We had a remake.  It was called Escape from LA.  It blew.

Sure. Because most shows create big, significant problems through plot. Or to put it another way, I hear people praise Girls because it is relateable and the characters are real. I never hear people praise it for its plot, dialogue, or humor. If I don't find the show relateable, nor do I give a fig for actual real

The problem isn't that the show is too white, too elitist, or that it's characters are delusional and entitled.  The problem is that it's fans (and most critics) are those things, and mistake this very, very shallow show for something deep, just because it comports with their own experiences.  Whether or not Hannah

"Goldilocks and the Twee Bear"

"the Kazon and Xindi"

Great piece.  Problem is that documentaries and feature films are necessarily different forms.  Saying that documentaries need more theatrics to be seen as equals to theatrical films is like saying that animated films need more live-action bits in to be seen as the equal of live-action.

So . . . is Enlightened truly great, or just Girls "great?"

Also, phenomenal reviews.  Glad they're back.

I hate it when people apply political labels to non-political things.  In The Shelter, Serling was advocating for nothing more than common human decency, which has nothing to do with polarizing political/economic labels.

My alternative was "Honey Boo Boo's first wet dream."

Saw: The Ham-tom Menace

How is The Following different from CSI, Criminal Minds, SVU or others?  Hasn't murder of the week been a staple of network TV for decades now?

"Then again, maybe they won’t have to figure out anything, because while
other TV shows require neat resolutions and dramatic storylines, Girls doesn’t, really, and that’s what makes it so great."

@avclub-da518aecddbf5c94588f53562012c452:disqus I am very, very grateful that this show has nothing in common with either Angel or Buffy.  I don't have any interest in TWD turning into a quippy, saccharine relationship drama with supernatural elements.  There's about twenty Whedon knockoffs you can watch if you want

You're wrong about that, but I don't hold it against you.
