Oh boy! I know one of the writers of this script!

Awww, geeeeez.

Judy Greer is a Goddess.

You know what the pilot says as you fly into Adelaide from the east coast: "We'll be arriving in Adelaide shortly. Please be sure to set your watches back 30 years—I mean, 30 minutes."

How could one live in Perth and not get the blues?

Nothing Like You by Frightened Rabbit. Totally thought it would be on here.

Uli doesn't care about anything. He's a Nihilist.

The Portal: No Escape short film? Yeah, boy! And I haven't even played the game! Get that woman a feature film STAT!

I think that movie qualifies as a failed abortion.

Clueless totally taught me the importance of R.S.V.Ping and how, like, if the government could just get to the kitchen and rearrange some things, we could certainly party with the Haitians.

Er, what's a job?

You're right, I should clarify. It's more become a tax on "poor taste," which is attributed to those of less lesser income. In recent years, the Australian government has become invested in the burgeoning wine market. Wine is an extremely profitable industry here, and the government figured they were good for a piece

Conversely, I can go to the pub around the corner from my place and take home a three pack of 750 mL longnecks for $13. Same amount of beer, but three dollars less. There's a lot of strange shenanigans going on out here when it comes to alcohol. Bizarro Land indeed.

No man, stubbies! 375 mL a bottle! The government taxes the shit out of beer out here. I come from a land where PBR is $10 for a case, and when I arrive out here I've got to shell out $40 for a case of beer. It's basically a tax on the poor when you get right down to it. Fortunately, the standard of living is higher

In Australia, though…

The two major grocery store chains here are Coles and Woolworths. I thought it sounded silly when I first arrived, but I've gotten used to it.

Just roughing up the suspect.

…And by new, I mean "new to me." It's winter here but I'm still having a summah!

It was a good week.
Riggle was awesome on WTF, as was Martin but for vastly different reasons. Both seem like very grounded guys whose comedic personas reveal their very real love of comedy for the sake of laughing instead of as a form of therapy. I think Marc is sometimes relieved to have well-adjusted comics come on

Joshua Bell
Haven't seen this episode yet, but the sequence about the violinist in the subway reminded me of Gene Weingarten's article from 2007 about world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell playing for 45 minutes during morning rush hour at DC's L'Enfant Plaza station. It's a great read if you haven't read it.
