The third year problem
You know what I think would be cool and unexpected? Have Nude Erections win Nationals this year. Then next year have new students want to join while phasing out some of the characters that are underserved or under-developed now. That would make it more interesting - where do the kids who won

The fight scene in Charlie's Angels was actually fairly cool…
…if you ignore the 115 pound girl kicking the door off of its hinges (and the fact that it was "borrowed" from The Transporter). The girls didn't make too much of an impression on me, but who knows what will happen with longer scenes. Maybe they have loads

I don't think that the Friends episode was built around the "coolness" of Hootie and the Blowfish, but around how popular they were at the time with mainstream audiences. Basically, they were exactly what the characters on that show would be listening to (and loving) at that period in time.

Mixed feelings abbout this not being the series finale.
So much to like in this ep, and above all else, finally seeing Chuck's maturation as a character and a man (and a boyfriend/partner) becoming complete. Chuck's drive and single-mindedness to save Sarah felt incredibly satisfying, like the second shoe dropping

I gave up on the clips pretty quick…
It seems that NBC's slogan should be "if you haven't seen these excellent, popular shows on their original networks when they first aired in the past then watch our poor knockoffs!". Playboy Club inspired by Mad Men, Smash inspired by Glee, that Jason Issacs show looks like it may

Umm…I watched the clip up above and was astonished by how amateur it looked. Maybe better actors could have sold that "here's the entire premise of the show!" dialogue but those two certainly couldn't…

IIRC, in The Five Doctors it was a plot point that Rassilon had "discovered" the secret to immortality. So it's not a natural state of Time Lords that is overruled by some decree of the council.

Shredder - oh, I understand that they had already established the Tardis Matrix as a type of living organism and that it was sentient…which is exactly why they *didn't* need to embody it in human form in this ep. I mean, we had already *got* it, so there was no need to make it (even more) blatant. As I said, they

To me, this is the "midichlorian episode"
Wow, am I ever in the minority in my opinion of this episode.

Happened to see the last half of this ep…
…so I missed the scene that's pictured above. First reaction - holy cow, Melissa Rauch looks incredibly different with and without glasses. If the picture had just been of her without Howard (and not on a recap of a BBT episode) I wouldn't have known it was her.

How do you mess up something like Wonder Woman?
I've not read the script for the pilot (which I heard was terrible) nor seen the pilot (which I've heard was terrible) so I can only guess. I'm assuming that they tried to "gritty it up" (down?) like the new version of the Bionic Woman.

If only there was a reasonable explantion, like being wealthy enough to afford subtle plastic surgery…or working in an industry that allows you access to specialists who show you how to take care of yourself…

Human Target ended a year ago anyway…
I really enjoyed the first few eps of the first season, especially the inventive actions scenes which showed you don't need a big budget to wow people. But even then I thought it lost steam towards the end of the first season. Second season - ehh.

MRC - I could be wrong. The statement itself seems to indicate that he was joking, and to be fair I read an interview where he said the same thing and he was described as laughing as he said it. However, I haven't read a lot of interviews with him. I will say, though, that a lot of times people with a dry sense of

Still missing the funny
I thought that this episode was a definite improvement over the last couple of weeks, and the character moments and songs were pretty good (I agree with those points in the review).

who *wrote* a Russ Meyer film.

Always amusing to see flipping out…
…at a comment that was meant tongue-in-cheek or as a joke.

Howard Stern, who confesses to being quite nerdy in his interests, had a great interview with JJ Abrams. He absolutely lambasted him for starting up great projects, then leaving right away to start on the next thing so that every show suffered after a strong start. He actually told him that he was - as a fan of his

Very happy to see Veronica Mars on here, and Alias too. My gf just lent Veronica Mars to a friend and she absolutely loved it - she couldn't believe that she didn't catch it while it was on the air.

Craig - were dollar theatres built to be dollar theatres where you lived, or were they old, no-longer profitable theatres that were converted? I don't think that the ever-shrinking release window had any effect on our dollar theatre. It was a downtown multi-plex that failed due to the flight to the suburbs; they cut
