Ever read his autobiography? Fascinating stuff.

Godspeed Genevieve.
I've got a friend who worked in NYC in the late 90's - early 2000's in the food scene. She would often work closely with various members of the Food Network "family" at the time and mentioned that Flay was the biggest douchenozzle of the bunch. She liked dealing with Batali because according to her, he was usually…
Now come on, if we get the Bobby Flay commenter here I want more than just a single sentence reply!
We can arguably trace back Emeril Live as the Food Network's jump the shark moment. I believe it was Anthony Bourdain who wrote about (paraphrasing here), "The audience braying seal-like at the mention of the word 'garlic'."
That's a very sensible comment considering it's come from Nicolas Cage.
The child-like side of me was excited as hell for this episode. My grown-up cynical side had lowered expectations. I have to say that I really enjoyed this. Despite the lack of really resolving the Zygon story, I dug it. Tom Baker's appearance made me a bit misty-eyed.
Gasp! Tacky t-shirt shops! Mediocre Southwestern art! Aaaaaiiiiiiieeeeeee!
I don't hate Clara, but I would have preferred the Clara from Asylum of the Daleks. Seeing her skid into the TARDIS on the Triumph Scrambler in the Day of the Doctor teaser trailer is badass.
The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe? Oh come ON. Seeing the Lancaster bomber on the lawn and her still alive husband emerge gets me every time. A flawed episode perhaps, but shows that Dr. Who has a heart the size of 10 Grinches.
Dr. Who is one of those shows where audience reaction is pretty binary. A definite hard line between those who absolutely love it or completely hate it. I've got a friend whom I can geek out with over a variety of sci-fi television and movies and she just can't seem to embrace the good Doctor. To each his/her own.
At first glance I thought this was about furry sexual fetishists. Would probably make for a more interesting film.
Good gawd am I getting a big ol' geek boner over all the Dr. Who festivities. So glad to see this gets a good review.
Just watched The Aztecs earlier this week on the BBC reruns and yeah, spot on observation. The show has evolved significantly.
They're both like my children, I love them equally. Both have strengths and weaknesses, just like the various actors who have portrayed the good Doctor have strengths and weaknesses. Both have produced some amazing, incredible episodes and both have also created some really awful clunkers of episodes.
Indeed.
My crazy memory (or lack thereof ) always flashes back to grade school. There was a short film that we got to see several times. It was about a watercolorist in Florida who was illustrating a story about hermit crabs. So it was part educational about hermit crabs and part awesome footage of this skilled artist…
We also got to see the unedited Romeo and Juliet, we had to have our parents sign a waiver beforehand.
The movie features a young and still hot Lea Thompson rocking a pair of skimpy panties. That elevates the movie's status to, "Meh." in my book.
