Preview of Season 6:

Season 1's Gurm episoe was a bit of a placesetting episode as well

I'm so glad the show didn't even bother with the Arya red herring.

I watched it sober, though I was eating some crackers and cheese…of sadness!

@avclub-7aee1b75b527e215f31e20a5c4e7a768:disqus : Patrilineal succession goes through firstborn sons - so the second Robb's child would have been born, he would supersede Bran as King in the North. If it was a girl, while both Bran and Robb's daughter would have a claim, the daughter's would likely be stronger.

Cat seems to still be sort of with it by the end there. In the books, she's completely lost her mind by the time she takes Jinglebell hostage.

I caught up on Hannibal, which I think is now the runner-up for the best looking show on TV (behind Mad Men, though keep in mind I've yet to see Rectify). It's such a gorgeous, lushly shot show, and it getting a second season was the best pop culture news of the year.

I had no idea Bob Clark directed Deathdream. I saw it about four or five years ago on the recommendation of a horror buff friend, when I was really getting into horror myself. It's an odd, fairly clunky movie, but D'Angelo's analysis of this scene really shows some of Clark's interesting, deliberate choices with

I don't know: those Tyrells seem to be awfully good too.

God I love that line.

That would be crazy if Freeman ended up as the Doctor - then he would have played Bilbo, Dr. Watson, Arthur Dent AND the Doctor. Those are some pretty major characters right there.

Oh my. Maybe I'd finally dive into Who with Ejiofor.

Ben Winshaw is occupied with another project…my dreams.

At my grandpa's funeral last year, both of the pastors who spoke mentioned "a life cut short" - he was 95. I assumed it was a joke at first. 95 is a long, long time to live.

This episode…didn't get a B? Well now I don't know what to think anymore.

I will never not like a Strayhorn joke.

I'm working sixteen hours this weekend. So…hooray?

It is on CBC's website!

Is my love of Denis Villeneuve enough to make me go see this?

It's slighter than Slings & Arrows, but it putters along at a comfortable pace and has excellent performances and writing.
