I haven't really been following The Flaming Lips lately, are the vocals usually this Bowie-esque?

I'm not the hugest fan of Speed, but there's something incredibly enthralling about that premise - I was pretty young when it came out, but we kids were really intrigued by the premise and were trying to figure out ways out it. It's a high-concept story that actually works.

Realism is overrated.

I've read the three interviews that George Meyer has given so many times, and I'd be tickled pink if the AV Club could get him for an interview. He's a little reclusive, but also gives fantastic interviews (actually he was interviewed for that PBS documentary series about TV, so it's not impossible)

If you're reading this and have never seen Boomtown, go do it right now. It's amazing.

I have a lot of basic baking ratios memorized, and with cookies it's just flour:butter:sugar:eggs (sometimes milk I guess).

He seems like a nice enough guy, but any time he pops up on 30 Rock or a Funny or Die video or something he's a total black hole of charisma or character. So, uh, I guess I'll be missing out on this new E! reality series? Darn?

@Scrawler2:disqus : Okay, I'm gonna break my "without comment" addition - I fucking love Speed Racer. It's balls-out insane, but it's a lot of fun and has a gorgeous pastel color pallet. It's the best "live action cartoon" I've seen in years.

Day After Tomorrow is hilarious hate-watching material.

I don't see what your feelings about their later films has anything to do with Lana being a woman.

Speed Racer has a scene where viking racecar drivers are bribed into wrongdoing with fine furs. There is then a shot of the viking racecar drivers lovingly stroking their ill-gotten furs.
